About the adventure
You and your companions traveled from far away across the plains to this desert land in search of a princess, whose father would reward you greatly for her return. Your life has taken you from wanderers, mercenaries, and reavers here now to this bounty. However, as you traveled you were set upon by unknown bandits who killed many of your group and nailed the rest of you to crosses, naked save for a strange wrist band. For days you hang from these posts as death circles above you on black wings. Vultures land occasionally and peck at your peeling skin. Then he came. A dark man with eyes of blue lightning. He cursed at his northern god Crom as he cut you down from the crosses but said only this before walking back into the encroaching sandstorm; “You cannot pass through the Ghost Fence, you are shackled to this land now, Exiles. Survive, fight, live, and dominate. This is your home now.” Here you are left. With nothing but thirst and the sand around you. A sandstorm from behind you is pushing you further north into the exiled lands and away from the border of your new home. Will you be able to survive the elements of this barren land? Will you live fully, and find the lust of life in this forgotten place? Maybe you will succumb to the sun beating down at you, the swords that will be at your throat, the yolks that would bend you to their will, and the corruption that seeps in from the darkest recesses of your mind? Or will you instead fight the bonds that keep you here enslaved to the desert and unknown foes? Tell me more about this game? Conan: The Hyborian Age is a gritty sword and sorcery rpg with fast and deadly combat, low magic, and high stakes. The game is easy to learn. There is not levels, but when you gain experience points you can spend them to further your skills. Magic is not common and comes at a price. In this mini campaign your past matters not, for all in this land are bound by the bracelets they wear. You will have to solve the mysteries of the Exiled Lands if you hope to ever escape. Those who stay are always fighting for survival, for their freedom, and against the corruption of the land. Be warned, exile, the corruption will turn you into some unrecognizable horror if you stray too far from humanity. Corruption in this mini-campaign is a homebrew mechanic that can affect your character, at the highest level may make your character unplayable, and you would need to create a new one – keep this in mind!

About me
Tabletop roleplaying games are the culmination of all my life long interests; writing, creativity, improv/accents/voices, roleplaying, story/narrative, board games, videogames, worldbuilding/lore, crafts, etc. Now that I have found game mastering, it has become a true calling for me. I can't get enough of it, so I am embarking on my journey as a professional GM in the hopes of creating wonderfully immersive games, in person as well as online, through compelling NPC's, interesting puzzles and challenges, character driven stories, and creating genuine fun at the table. I have a wide variety of interests from silly tomfoolery all the way to serious and deadly challenges. Sarcasm and silliness tends to frequent my tables because I want my players to explore all the depth of creativity that comes from playing a game where you can do anything. I am queer and want to bring together tables that are inclusive, open minded, and cooperative. Creating your character
I will have pre-generated characters available if needed. If you do not have access to the soucebook or quickstart guide, I will provide any resources you will need to make your characters in the Discord channel for this game including information about the setting of Hyboria. For character creation, you will follow the normal character creation steps in the game, but you will not start with any weapons or gear. You can still plan for weapon types that you would like to specialize in, but you won't have access to these until you trade, slay, or steal for your desired weapons. This setting reflects the world of Robert E. Howard's Hyboria where Conan's adventures took place and is inspired by the Conan Exiles videogame. If you are unfamiliar with this setting at all that is perfectly fine, but when creating a character think gritty fantasy and sword & sorcery for inspiration. This is a place where magic is not a common sight and often corrupts the user. Men fight for power, riches, and even to survive. Player characters are exiles from any land and upbringing, but they should be hardy or well experiences if they hope to survive the Exiled Lands. Those with weak hearts, minds, and/or bodies will surely perish. If you want to get more of a feel for the Conan Universe I highly recommend reading or listening to some of Robert E. Howards work, watching one of the Conan movies (Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, etc.) or playing/watching playthroughs or trailers for the videogame Conan Exiles.

Preparing for the session
We will be using Discord for voice chat and character creation, etc. and FoundryVTT for the gameplay. I recommend paper character sheets, but there is also options for digital character sheets on the VTT. Links will be provided on sign up. What Anthony brings to the table
I love doing character voices and using ambient music! I prefer rules light play (which is easy with this rules light system) and the Rule of Cool. Most of the enemies in this game are low level Minions (that go down after a couple hits) the real tactical situations will happen with large numbers or with Antagonists (HP and their own stats/abilities). You can expect gritty gameplay as well as silliness that often accompanies my games.
Homebrew rules
Corruption: This will be an additional stat you will track that can be raised and lowered by different triggers. Some will be known to you from the start where others will have to be discovered through trial and error. In general, magic and evil deeds cause corruption while good deeds may lower corruption. Often, sharing a meal and mead across a campfire with friends and strangers alike, feeling the fire of passion, and being merciful can keep an Exile's heart pure.

How Anthony creates a safe table
This is an intense game, not for the feint hearted. However, I am always open to altering the game to suit players wishes. This is about having fun! If you want to participate in this game but are unsure about confronting some of the triggering content, please message me and we can talk about what can be faded out, replaced, or not focused on during play. There is some unavoidable content that might not be changeable. In addition, all of the listed safety tools will be employed. Players that harass will be kicked from the game at the GM's digression. While there may be sexual content, this does not mean unsolicited remarks or roleplay will take place without everyone's consent and may in most cases be fade-to-black type content.
