About the adventure

Death is only the beginning of your story in the world of Druskenvald. A world of folk horror awaits you as you uncover the secrets of Wickermoor Hollow and determine the fate of its people. In this dark world you will be pushed to the limits of your character’s morals and skills. Be advised that this world pushes the envelope for fear and all things spooky. If you like roleplay heavy games with challenging and unique combat, then this is the game for you. Your character will progress from level one to fourteen as you explore the world under the crooked moon.

About me

Table top gamer for 26 years, started with AD&D 2nd edition. I have tried multiple systems over the years, running the gambit from AD&D to World of Darkness and the systems in between like Call of Cthulhu and even obscure one off games like the D20 Slayers anime based game. I have run in person for much of my time but have spent the last ten years on Roll20. My current favorite systems are D&D 5.5e (2024), Call of Cthulhu, and Fabula Ultima. One of my hobbies is collecting 3rd party D&D books.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen during session zero, but please feel free to get started before then. Pregen characters will be provided if needed. Characters will be made using standard array for stats and regular 5.5e lineages along with the ones presented in the Crooked Moon will be available. We will be using 5.5e character creation rules, though materials from the 2014 5th edition will be available on a case by case decision. Characters will be created at level one on Roll20 and a robust compendium of materials is available to use.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Roll20 account as well as Discord. There will be an invite for the Roll20 game as well as a Discord Server. a watch2gether account is not needed but may be used for music.

What GothMoogle (Bill) brings to the table

Besides a large compendium made available to the players, I will be using character voices to the best of my ability, along with ambient music. I run a roleplay heavy table and love player interactions and I lean towards Rule of Cool when deciding things. I utilize session Zero to set expectations and to define the use of "Lines and Veils" as determined by the group as a whole.

Homebrew rules

Some homebrew rules: -Drinking a potion is a bonus action, handing it to another player is a free action, and using a potion on another character is a full action. Campaign specific rules: -NO Teleport, Plane Shift, or other magic can transport a creature beyond the borders of Druskenvald/ Wickermoor Hollow. There is no magical communication to creatures outside of Druskenvald/ Wickermoor Hollow.

Safety

How GothMoogle (Bill) creates a safe table

I utilize Session zero to set expectations, Lines and Veils, show how to use X,N,&O cards in Roll20, and provide aftercare and decompression time after each session ends. There will be a 10-15 minute break mid session and if at any time the player feels the need to, they are free to step away from the table so long as they send me notice that they are stepping out.
