About the adventure
🗺️ The Children of Fear: An Epic 1920s Journey Across Asia A massive, player-led cosmic horror campaign through Northern India and Central Asia. The year is 1923. A simple request from an old friend pulls you away from the daily grind and sends you packing on a journey you'll never forget. What begins as an esoteric historical investigation quickly unravels into a desperate race across Asia to prevent an ancient, world-shattering prophecy from tearing reality apart. From the bustling streets of Calcutta to the desolate, windswept peaks of Tibet, you will trace the footsteps of the occult. But beware: the physical journey is treacherous, and the spiritual one is downright deadly. Will you uncover the truth, or will you become just another sacrifice to the horrors waiting in the snow? 👁️ Why Play This Campaign? • Globetrotting Mystery: A massive, non-Western sandbox spanning multiple countries, filled with rich history, deep lore, and hundreds of custom player handouts. • Player-Led Narrative: This isn't a railroad. Your choices entirely dictate who you ally with, how you tackle the mythos, and impact the finale drastically. • Psychological & Cosmic Horror: A masterclass in atmospheric dread, blending traditional Lovecraftian monsters with rich local mythologies. • Tailored Mythos Scale: Whether you prefer gritty, street-level occultism or reality-bending encounters with Outer Gods, the horror scales to your actions. 📜 Game Details & Expectations • System: Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition (Classic Investigator focus with optional Pulp elements for survivability - discussed in Session 0). • Tone: Immersive, historical, investigative, and intensely atmospheric. • Safety First: This campaign deals with mature themes—primarily cannibalism and sex in the context of religious and cultural rites, as well as psychological horror and descent into madness. (We will discuss Lines and Veils during Session 0). • Experience Level: Completely beginner-friendly! I will teach you the rules, help you build your investigator, and provide all necessary digital materials. 🎒 What I Provide As Your Keeper • Full Virtual Tabletop (VTT) integration with beautiful, high-resolution images, maps and handouts. • A curated soundtrack, ambient soundscapes, and sound effects. ⏳ The Journey Begins Soon! The expedition is already forming, and the stars are aligning. Do you have the wits, the courage, and the sanity to survive the journey that awaits? 👉 Claim your seat today before the final slot descends into madness and is never seen again.

About me
Hi! Like many of you, I enjoy playing TTRPGs in my free time. Being a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, my first experience with RPGs was as a player in Call of Cthulhu. I have since expanded into other genres of TTRPGs as well. Occasionally, I do enjoy just bashing enemies and being super powerful, but most of the time I prefer when characters are more human. I enjoy the story, atmosphere, and the dread of knowing something may be around the corner that can't be dealt with using brute force alone.

Creating your character
We will create characters together during our $6 Session 0. I will walk you through the process, so no experience is needed. The scenario also comes with a number of pre-made characters that fit the campaign perfectly. If you would prefer not to make your own character, feel free to choose from one of the pre-made characters I will have ready for you. I ask that everyone waits until our Session 0 to make a character as it would be best to have a balanced party. Because of that, you may need to be flexible with your build.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only thing you will need is a Discord Account and a mic. Discord will be used for all the Audio (and video if you're using a webcam). Players will be expected to have their mic on during the session. Having your webcam on is preferrable, but it is NOT mandatory. If you don't want your webcam on, we will respect that. I will be running this game on Foundry VTT, but you do not need an account. I will send the link to join my game server via Discord. The link will open my Foundry game in a web browser.
What Keeper_Chris brings to the table
I will provide everything you need! Character sheets, dice, notes, maps, etc. will all be provided through Foundry VTT. Of course, I love to build the atmosphere and enhance my players' immersion in a number of ways. I use visuals (maps, images, reference, etc.) as well as audio (sound effects, and ambiance) and lots of description! But most importantly, I will provide the story and the excitement!

How Keeper_Chris creates a safe table
This campaign deal with horrific creatures, body horror, violence, madness, cannibalism, sex in the context of religious and cultural rites, and even character death. HOWEVER, I do not describe any of these things in great detail. Lines and Veils will be discussed in our Session 0. And, if at any time you are uncomfortable, you can use the digital X, N, & O's. In addition to the above, we will also take a 5~10 minute break during the session. My discord will be open the whole time. Please feel free to message me at any time during the session or during the break with concerns.
