About the adventure

A mystery with the promise of a great battle at its conclusion, The Astromancer would make a fine introduction to new players whilst still challenging veterans with an early-level investigation into the ascendence of Pontiff Simmushae, holy tyrant. Roleplay elements are fairly light, so it’s the perfect game for the shy or inexperienced — instead the focus of this single-session game is simple adventure. How will you reach the Pontiff? What has happened within Coleraine’s walls? Can you find and defeat the evil within? Let’s find out together!

What Jay brings to the table

The game will be mostly rules as written, but exceptions may occasionally be made for the sake of beautiful storytelling. There will be music, there will be voiced NPCs, and combat will be intense! I do my best to run an immersive game for my beautiful players!

Homebrew rules

Just a few little tweaks: - Heroic inspiration may be used in a number of ways, from increasing damage, to imposing disadvantage. Tell me how you want to use it! - It’s a bonus action to drink a potion, but a full action to feed it to someone. - Critical Hits deal full, standard damage, and THEN you roll on top: guaranteed devastation! - Critical Fails never just miss, or fail, the stakes are high. - I may call for a Luck Check if the result is out of your control. Roll a straight d20.

How Jay creates a safe table
