About the adventure
Welcome to Frozen Sick, a beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons adventure set in the snowy lands of Wildemount. A strange illness is spreading through the small village of Palebank, and your group may be the only one willing to discover where it came from. What begins as a search for a cure will lead you across frozen wilderness, into dangerous places, and toward secrets that were meant to stay buried beneath the ice. This game is especially welcoming to new players. You don’t need to know the rules, the world, or even exactly how D&D works before joining, I’ll help you build your character, understand what you can do, and learn naturally as we play. Returning and experienced players are just as welcome! Expect a balanced mix of roleplay, exploration, mystery, and combat, with plenty of opportunities to try creative ideas instead of searching for the “correct” answer. I love when players interact with the world, propose unexpected plans, and help create the story with me. Your choices can change how situations unfold, and I want your character’s personality and story to have a place at the table. The goal is to learn, laugh, explore, and create those memorable moments that make D&D special. You’ll begin as a level 1 adventurer and grow stronger as the story progresses. Frozen Sick works wonderfully as a complete first adventure, but if the group falls in love with their characters and wants to keep going, this frozen mystery can become the first chapter of a much bigger campaign.

About me
I’m an outgoing, player-focused Game Master with more than 3 years of experience running Dungeons & Dragons, both online and in person. I’ve run everything from fast-paced one-shots to campaigns lasting more than two years, including both homebrew worlds and official D&D adventures. Outside the table, I’m a biologist, teacher, and polyglot, and communication is at the heart of what I do. That translates directly into my games: I listen to my players, make space for everyone to shine, explain things clearly, and adapt the experience so every group feels unique. What I love most about tabletop RPGs is the chance to create stories that no one could have planned alone. Great moments can come from an epic battle, a difficult decision, a ridiculous plan that somehow works, or a quiet conversation between characters. I see RPGs as spaces for creativity, connection, teamwork, and personal growth, where players can explore new ideas, meet people, and build unforgettable stories together. My table is a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of nationality, religion, sexual orientation, identity, background, or experience. Whether you’ve been playing for years or you’re about to roll your first d20, there’s a seat for you at my table.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen together during Session 0, so you don’t need to arrive with a finished character. We’ll build everyone step by step, talk about the party, and make sure each character has a reason to be part of the adventure. Characters will start at Level 1 and be created in D&D Beyond. We’ll use the Standard Array for ability scores so everyone starts on equal footing. Official D&D character options are welcome. Homebrew can be discussed with me beforehand, but if this is your first time playing D&D, I strongly recommend sticking to official options so you can learn the core rules without adding extra complexity. If this is your first time creating a character, that’s completely fine! During Session 0, I’ll explain species, classes, backgrounds, abilities, and anything else you need. The goal is for everyone to leave with a character they understand, enjoy, and feel excited to play.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before the game, you only need a few things: 1) A Discord account to join the server, communicate with the group, and use voice chat. 2) A free D&D Beyond account for your character sheet and game resources. Optional: If you’re brand new to D&D, I recommend watching 1–3 short beginner videos about how D&D works before Session 0. It’s completely optional, but it can help you feel more comfortable with the basics. That’s it! You don’t need to memorize rules, buy books, or prepare a character beforehand. We’ll handle character creation and any questions together during Session 0. :)
What Omar brings to the table
You can expect a cinematic, welcoming, and collaborative game with background music and ambient sounds to help bring Wildemount to life. I like giving NPCs distinct personalities and voices, while leaving plenty of space for players to interact, improvise, and shape the story with their own ideas. I generally follow the rules, but I’m also a fan of the Rule of Cool. If you come up with something creative, exciting, and reasonable for the situation, I’ll usually try to find a way to let you attempt it rather than shutting the idea down. Combat will be clear and engaging without requiring you to be a tactical expert. I also use a more dramatic critical-hit rule: when you score a critical hit, one set of the attack’s damage dice deals maximum damage, then you roll the extra set of damage dice normally. This makes critical hits feel genuinely special without making combat too complicated.
Homebrew rules
1) Drinking a potion as a bonus action you roll the dice and an action does max healing. 2) You might find balanced but homebrew spells and Items.

How Omar creates a safe table
Player comfort comes first. During Session 0, we’ll talk about expectations, tone, boundaries, and use Lines & Veils to establish content that should never appear or should only happen off-screen. We’ll also use a digital X-Card through Discord. At any point, you can type or message an X if something is making you uncomfortable, and we’ll immediately pause, change direction, or skip the scene—no explanation required. You’re also always welcome to message me privately during or after a session. I like to check in with the group after particularly intense moments and at the end of sessions when needed. D&D should feel exciting, dramatic, and sometimes tense in the story, while still feeling safe and respectful for everyone at the table.
