About the adventure
Draw Steel is an improvement to the tabletop roleplaying games you've tried, made by the team at MCDM. The owner and namesake of MCDM, Matt Colville, was my introduction to running games nearly a decade ago. It's easy to learn, fun to play, and puts you in the shoes of a real hero from the first level. Not too much to learn, not too little to be fun. In this game you'll join several other new(er) heroes in an adventure in the custom land of INITIA, written by yours truly! You and I will collaborate together to get you up to speed on the world and the game with a white glove onboarding process including a FREE character creation Discord call (30 minutes individual, 1 hour group session available). Feeling overwhelmed by the options? Not to worry, I offer several options for players who would rather not spend much time planning their characters, up to having a character written for you with a cheat sheet to tell you what to do in combat. I have custom handouts and video guides for the character creator (Forged Steel), the tabletop (Foundry VTT), the system (Draw Steel!), and the world (Initia)! All yours to keep with the price of admission. Curious about the adventure itself? Inspired by my study of Ancient Greece, this adventure is about the plundering of Ancient Korinth, an empire of elves that shattered centuries ago. Their capital, Heliopolis, persisted for some time before an epic conflict of the Gods shattered the city into pieces. One large piece, the city center, has become an island off the south western coast of Initia. Full of monsters, evidence of the divine conflict, and ancient elven magic no one has dared to venture there and return... perhaps you will? Expect gritty combat against epic foes and revelations about the history of this world.

About me
Looking to dive in for the first time? Or maybe you want a one of a kind session in a passion project world? Or if you're interested in tactical snappy combat then you should keep reading. Hi, I'm Zette, pleased to meet you. I cut my teeth like many a DM on Matt Colvile's 'Running the Game' series in 2017. Ever since that day I finally convinced some of my friends to play I've been the man behind the table for at least one session a month if not more. It wasn't long after starting my first campaign (which had six players and met weekly! CRAZY!) that I discovered I wanted more than what Hoard of the Dragon Queen was offering me. So I started writing my own story loosely based on the module and it was... rough. Thankfully I've had years of practice since and my writing has certainly improved. Tabletop RPGs have become a staple creative outlet for me in my life, an awesome chance to blend both my background in the arts and in technology. Speaking of, around 2019 I switched to entirely virtual. I had met many amazing players since I had started from all sorts of different places and so it only made sense to transition to the one venue that could support us all: the internet. We tooled around with several VTTs before discovering an awesome combination of D&D Beyond and Foundry VTT. As the tools and my DM'ing have continued to improve I have only grown in my love for the game and my desire to share my work with more players.

Creating your character
You'll share your Discord info with the director. I will then share with the wiki which contains a modified copy of the rules for our setting. We will also schedule your FREE character creation session, either individually or as a group. We'll use Forged Steel to generate and export your character which I'll load into the virtual tabletop ahead of our session.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players are required to join the Zette's 90s Diner discord server (discord.com) and will require an account to do so. The session will take place there and on a Foundry VTT server hosted on Forge VTT (forge-vtt.com) for which players will also need an account.
What Zette brings to the table
You can expect: great music from the fine folks at tabletop RPG music, excellent hand-made battlemaps from Cze and Peku, and excellent VTT addons from the Foundry VTT community. Furthermore you'll be getting a one-of-a-kind adventure written by yours truly in a world I wrote and documented in a wiki. This world is a moving one and you'll get to leave your mark on Initia as we write it together.
Homebrew rules
All homebrew rules will be detailed in the wiki which is provided to players once they have committed to the session, they are light, this game is mostly RAW minus some re-skinned Heroes content.

How Zette creates a safe table
During your onboarding we will refer the party's lines and veils document which is filled out by the Director and shared with the party. You'll be allowed to declare what you are absolutely uncomfortable with encountering (lines) and what things you'd prefer are only mentioned vaguely or otherwise abbreviated (veils). This will be reviewed at the start of our game and ahead of it. It will also mention, in big letters, the tools you have at your disposal if you feel uncomfortable/your line or veil is crossed.
