About the adventure
## Adventures in Rokugan Enter Rokugan, a land of honour, ancient traditions, rival clans and supernatural danger. Players become heroic warriors, skilled duelists, mystical spellcasters and cunning wanderers exploring the Emerald Empire. The adventure combines samurai drama with action, exploration, monster hunting and journeys into forgotten temples and corrupted lands. Your choices may decide the fate of villages, clans and the empire itself—but in Rokugan, protecting your honour can be just as important as surviving the battle. **Will you follow the path expected of you, or forge your own legend?**

About me
## About Nylo Welcome to my table! I run immersive, lighthearted adventures with a good balance of roleplay, exploration and exciting combat. My games include plenty of humour, but I also enjoy creating serious moments, tension and meaningful choices. Player decisions matter in my campaigns. I set the scene, introduce the world and its challenges, and then let the players decide where the story goes. I enjoy collaborative storytelling and regularly use character backgrounds, goals and ideas to shape future sessions. I am especially comfortable introducing new players to tabletop roleplaying games. I explain the rules patiently, help with character creation and make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate. My games are welcoming to players of all experience levels and backgrounds. Respect, cooperation and communication are important at my table. Games are normally played using Roll20, with voice communication through Discord. Players receive access to the books and campaign material needed for the game through my Roll20 compendium. Depending on the campaign, I may allow character options from official Wizards of the Coast books and selected third-party material such as Kobold Press. Available options will always be explained before character creation. Some campaigns may include mature themes such as violence, horror, death or cruelty. Content warnings and safety expectations will be clearly explained before play, and player boundaries will always be respected. ## How I Run Games My games usually contain an approximately equal balance of roleplay and combat, although this may change depending on the players and the campaign. You can expect: * Prepared maps, tokens, handouts and visual material. * Music and background ambience when appropriate. * Meaningful player choices with real consequences. * A mixture of humour, tension, mystery and action. * Encounters that encourage creativity rather than only direct combat. * Help with rules and character abilities. * Opportunities for every player to contribute. * Character backgrounds incorporated into the story. * A welcoming environment for beginners. I enjoy the Rule of Cool and reward creative ideas. I normally follow the written rules, but I am willing to make quick rulings when necessary so the game continues moving. I am not interested in arguing over every minor rule. When something is unclear, I make a fair ruling during the session and check the exact rule afterward if needed. ## My GM Style My style is friendly, flexible and player-focused. I enjoy dramatic stories, strange encounters, memorable villains and moments that make the entire table laugh. Characters are encouraged to have goals, flaws and connections to the world. I want players to feel that their imagination and decisions genuinely influence the campaign. Failure does not always mean that nothing happens. Failed rolls may create complications, difficult choices or unexpected changes to the story. ## Character Creation I help players create characters before the first session. This can be done through Discord or during a short one-to-one character-creation session. Character options depend on the campaign. I will clearly explain which books, classes, species, feats and other material are available. Players do not need to understand every rule before joining. New and returning players are welcome. ## Rules Are... A framework for creating an enjoyable and fair game. I generally use the rules as written, but I also allow creative solutions and the Rule of Cool when they improve the story without taking enjoyment away from other players. When a rule is unclear, I make a quick and fair decision so we can continue playing rather than stopping the session for a long rules discussion. ## My Favourite Shows and Movies Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and The Office. ## When I Am Not Running Games... I work as an educator and enjoy creating games, stories and roleplaying material. I like collaborative worldbuilding and finding ways to involve players in the future direction of a campaign. Your imagination, character choices and ideas help drive the story forward.

Creating your character
## Character Creation Characters will be created before Session 1. I can guide players through character creation on Discord, or we can arrange a short one-to-one session if you prefer more direct help. The players will choose their clans together from a selected group of clans. This is to make sure the characters begin the campaign as allies, or at least belong to clans that have a good reason to cooperate. The necessary books will be available through Roll20. For this campaign, characters may only use races, classes and feats from **Adventures in Rokugan**. Options from other D&D books will not be used unless I approve them beforehand. You get 1 free clan feat at level 1 and we will use Standard Array
What to expect
Preparing for the session
## How to Prepare Before the character-creation session, please: * Create free accounts on **Roll20** and **Discord**. * Make sure you can join a Discord voice channel and that your microphone works. * Think about the type of character you would enjoy playing, such as a warrior, courtier, scout, spellcaster or wandering hero. * Choose two or three clans that interest you. The group will select characters from clans that can reasonably work together. * Be ready to discuss your character’s personality, duties, loyalties and reasons for joining the other characters. * Read the basic rules and character options available in the **Adventures in Rokugan** books on Roll20. You do not need to understand everything before we begin. * Do not create a finished character alone unless we have agreed on the clan and character options first. Characters may only use races, classes and feats from **Adventures in Rokugan**. I will help with rules, abilities and character creation, so new players are welcome.

How nylo creates a safe table
## Safety Rules The goal is for everyone to feel comfortable, respected and included during the game. * Treat all players with respect. Harassment, bullying, discrimination and personal attacks are not accepted. * Keep conflicts between characters separate from conflicts between players. * Players may pause the game at any time if a scene becomes uncomfortable. No explanation is required. * We will use **Lines and Veils**. Lines are subjects that will not appear in the game. Veils are subjects that may exist but will happen off-screen without detailed description. * Players may privately contact the Game Master before, during or after a session to discuss concerns or request changes. * Romantic or sexual content will not be described explicitly. * Graphic violence, torture and cruelty will be limited and may be faded to black. * Do not pressure another player into roleplaying a scene they are uncomfortable with. * Avoid deliberately ruining the game for others, including attacking party members, stealing from them or betraying the group without prior agreement. * Everyone should have an opportunity to speak and participate. Do not constantly interrupt or dominate the game. * Respect personal boundaries and do not make jokes about another player’s identity, health, appearance or personal life. * The Game Master may stop or change a scene if it is making the game uncomfortable or disruptive. Rokugan can include themes such as war, honour, death, supernatural horror, political conflict and difficult moral choices. These themes will be discussed before the campaign begins so that everyone knows what to expect. Anyone who repeatedly ignores the safety rules may be removed from the game.
