About the adventure
Barovia. The cursed land of dread has swallowed you into its mists. To survive, you must brave the Death House, learn the secrets of a forgotten cult, and make choices that will define your future. This is the introductory adventure to the classic D&D horror campaign, Curse of Strahd, where you have the chance of surviving in the dark domain. This setting is not for the faint of heart - blood, gore, sacrifice, slavery, all manners of death and dismemberment are key features of this adventure. This is a 3-session mini-campaign. Your choices towards the end of the adventure (should you survive!) will determine if you wish to continue on to the full Strahd adventure or turn tale and run back to your homeworld. New players are welcome.

About me
The thing about me is I love D&D. I love co-creating worlds with players. I love surprising and being surprised. I love how the dice tells the story. I love the endless well of possibilities that exist within the fantasy world. I want to play all the time and with all kinds of people. I want the game to be so engaging that we discuss it throughout the week. So that’s the energy I’m bringing.

Ability Scores Non-Standard Array 8, 10, 12, 14, 14, 16 PHB Race and Classes Only. No Homebrew. Begin at 1st Level with a robust (non AI generated) back story. I have access to nearly all of the necessary books for character creation however am willing to broaden that access if necessary.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Don't come without a good attitude :) Beyond that you'll need a free D&DBeyond account, Roll20, and the Beyond20 extension. We will use a private Discord server for video and voice during the session and to navigate any out of session details or roleplay that you wish to have.
What Ken brings to the table
I am a fan of collaborative story-telling. I look forward to weaving backstories into already established lore to create a fresh and singular outcome each and every time. I rely on making character choices matter, whether that means having to improv my way through half the session or changing the direction of the campaign altogether because of decisions made in game - I am excited to do the work to provide an immersive experience. I believe in Rules as Written but the written rules also allow for DMs discretion or Rule of Cool so creativity within reason is encouraged. I'm really here just to have a good time.
Homebrew rules
Natural 20's get you advantage on the next d20 roll. Natural 1's get you disadvantage on the next d20 roll. During live games, chatting in text is encouraged even "out of turn" while in combat. Roleplay is not restricted to what's being said aloud.

How Ken creates a safe table
I have a standardized Session 0 that will be reviewed with everyone out of session before the first game starts. It includes pet peeves, boundaries, and table expectations (such as no PvP). I am constantly available on Discord for feedback or chat and as a licensed therapist I take pride in being able to create and hold safe spaces for people in my care.
