About the adventure
Embark on a journey of collaborative world building and storytelling. Using three different game systems over 3 sessions we will build an entirely bespoke setting then conclude with a game in the world we have built together. Session one we play Microscope and build the foundations of our setting. We will create a world with a vibrant living history complete with multiple eras. Session two we will play Kingdom. Choosing one of those eras to explore in more depth, we will build a community, populate its movers and shakers, and play through how it faces a crisis. Session three we will play Freeform Universal. Done with world building, we will be making individual characters and play out an adventure set in the world and community we have created together.

About me
Hi, I'm the Monkish Monkfish, but I've also been known to answer to David. I fell in love with Roleplaying Games back in the late 90s when a friend's older brother introduced us to Rifts and other Palladium games. After a few years of solid gaming our group eventually drifted apart, which led to a long and unfortunate hiatus from the hobby. In 2020, though, a friend casually remarked, "we should play d&d" and I've been making up for lost time ever since, starting with DMing a campaign that is still going strong. Since then I've added as many systems into the mix as I could find time and players for with ongoing campaigns of Call of Cthulhu and Vampire the Masquerade, more one shots than I can count, a few conventions, and even a west marches style game that maxed out at over twenty players.

Creating your character
Character creation will be fast and simple, and take place at the beginnings of sessions two and three, using the rules from Kingdom and Freeform Universal respectively. No advanced prep is required.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Voice and (optional) video will be over discord, which requires a free account. You will have to join the game server in advance using the link provided. Character sheets and world building notes will use Google Docs and Sheets.
What The Monkish Monkfish (David) brings to the table
With this three session program I provide a singular platform for collaborative worldbuilding and a unique chance to role-play in your own bespoke setting. I take care of facilitating all three games and teaching the rules as necessary. No preparation or prior knowledge is required on your part. And most importantly it is my job to ensure a safe and respectful environment where players and their creativity are able to thrive. Bigotry will not be tolerated and I am committed to providing a safe space for everyone. Neurodivergent, lgbtq+, and bipoc friendly.
Homebrew rules
No specific home brew rules will be used, but Freeform Universal is a very loose, minimalist, and (appropriately) free form system. Rule of Cool will be in effect.

How The Monkish Monkfish (David) creates a safe table
Before Play Lines & Veils; everyone will be provided with access to document to list any lines or veils they might have, and this document will be reviewed at the beginning of session one. Lines are subjects which will not be included in the game at all. Veils are subjects which can be touched upon but where we will fade to black. During Play I have an open table policy; everyone is there willingly and as such they're free to leave at any time. Notice is appreciated but not required. We will be using a verbal X, N, & O system. Anyone can call an X to stop play without question, N acts as a warning to me that we are approaching an X and allows me to change gears or stop play or a discussion if necessary, and O is simply a check in to confirm everyone is alright. I will also do everything I can to respond to messages or hand gestures on camera, but these can be easy to miss if I am on another tab, so I strongly prefer verbal cues. After Play Each session will conclude with a Stars & Wishes style debrief. We will go around the table and everyone will choose a star and a wish. Stars are high points or good things about the session that you would like to highlight, and Wishes are things either you would have liked to see this sessions or things you hope for in the next.
