About the adventure
This takes place in the Forgotten Realms, specifically on the Sword Coast. This is going to be aimed at reaching new players how to play the game. We will dive into how to build characters, teaching what the various terms of the games are, and will work on character development across a short story. We will go over the fundamentals of character creation, like choosing your race, rolling stats, and a breakdown of the various classes. We can go into the various synergies of classes, so you could build your party with those in mind. This will be an introductory course into D&D, and should be expected to take anywhere from 8-10 sessions to complete, depending on how well your party works together.

About me
I’m a big nerd. I’m a fan of MTG, D&D, JRPGs, and cooking. One of those isn’t like the others, but it’s something I’m also passionate about!

Creating your character
We will do character creation, as well as system familiarity, together. It will essentially be the first half of the first session, where we will roll stats, come up with character background, and design them, then jump into the game for the remainder of our first session. Characters will be level 1. I use roll 3d6 for my stats for this game. Any official WOTC material is fair game at my table, but ask me before you commit to it. If something feels out of theme for the campaign, I would rather dissuade you from it to keep the high fantasy aspect of it as true as possible.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need Discord to run voice, as well as Fantasy Grounds Unity for the VTT. A basic knowledge of them would be preferable, but not needed!
What Alex brings to the table
I tend to stick as close to the rules as written as possible, but I’ve been known to embrace the Rule of Cool from time to time. Players should expect some level of tactical combat at my table.

How Alex creates a safe table
Before our campaign, you will receive a questionnaire that will contain a list of Do’s and Don’t’s for our campaign. If you have a fear of clowns, for instance, we can agree that something like that would be inappropriate for our table. Matters of real world politics are also a red flag at my table. There may be political aspects that come up, but those would be important to the campaign, and would stop there. Some things of graphic nature would also be banned at my table, but we can discuss that in a more private matter.
