About the adventure
Set in the forgotten realms, this adventure will be a little darker, dealing with demons, captured and enslaved creatures, and various other hardships. There will be a variety of gameplay, from stealth, to intense battles, to exploration, to roleplay, this campaign will give the opportunity for any of it: between towns, opening with the players captured, and exploring an unknown land. The game will be played between theater of the mind, and the VTT. Blending the two to allow for solid map and physical distance, and visual aids during combat and exploration, without losing the magic imagination adds to the game. The map as a supplement to theatre of the mind, and not the other way around.

About me
I have been DMing for 6 years now. I have done several games and one-shots, with one campaign spanning all 20 levels. I have almost exclusively played Dungeons and Dragons 5e, having dipped my fingers just momentarily to look at other systems. I played during the pandemic, so have done stuff virtually as well as actual tabletop. I enjoy the fun of roleplay more than the fun of combat (although it is close). Enjoy fantasy and higher levels of magic, getting creative with it is part of what I enjoy most.

Creating your character
Players will need to come to the session 0 with a vague idea of a character in mind, characters will be made at the end. Players are welcome to build their character or use a pre-made character. Stats will be determined with 4d6 drop the lowest. Starting at level 1! Please create through the D&D Beyond Campaign so I have access to your character for the VTT. It will be emailed to you when you book. Characters will be done only in 5e, not 5.5e. I also ask that we don't use guns or futuristic weapons. The only starting equipment will be the starting equipment from your class/background. Although if you have a trinket or something you want from your backstory that is different/extra, I will likely allow that.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to make sure they have access to D&D Beyond (such as having an account). As well as access to Discord, and a microphone so you can respond and play.
What Aktor #1 brings to the table
I like to do character voices as often as I can, but being no voice actor, I try to have additional ways of differentiating characters. I also use ambient music often. I enjoy rule of cool, but on the scale lean a little more towards rules as written than fully rule of cool.
Homebrew rules
Critical success/failure out of combat. Healing potion as a free action. I may implement other homebrew as I learn new ones, the opportunity arises, and play develops.

How Aktor #1 creates a safe table
We will be having a free session 0, that will have time for the Deck of Player Safety. There will then be a discussion about the topics we can and cannot approach, how open door and breaks work. X, N, and O cards will be messaged to me directly. After sessions, we will do a stars and wishes discussion.
