About the adventure

In a new, modern world where magic is returning, your lives are changing. What was once hidden, secret, is now on the underground, darkweb, not known but not unknown. You catch glimpses of it. Someone's eye colour shifting, the smell of a rotting corpse on the train, what looked to be a tail sneaking under a shirt. But for most every day humans, magic and monsters are ignored. But you are not every day humans. No, you are well aware of the underground magic scene, perhaps even a monster yourself, something from folkore and mythology. Or perhaps you're human, with a touch of essence and a gift. Either way, you know you are hunted. For there are whispers of an organisation, one that wishes to control magic itself. So far you have avoided their gaze, but their reach is ever expanding, and you knew you could never truly escape. Now, you feel the wolves nipping at your heels as the net closes. What will you do? How will you escape? And if you manage to be free, how will you keep everyone you love from meeting the same fate? - This game will be initially set in Melbourne, Australia, but depending on your choices and your rolls, could lead anywhere! No actual knowledge of the city is required to play.

About me

Hi everyone! My name is Gabrielle, and I've been playing ttrpgs for a few years now, GMing for the last year. I enjoy a mix of play by posts and live sessions, both having their strengths and weaknesses. I come prepared with a large dose of Foundry experience, so you can expect smooth combat and little to no technical issues. With my experience in play by posts; I've been doing text roleplays since I was a teenager, and have always highly enjoyed them! I've taken that experience in writing and brought it to a more structured setting, and it's been going well. I currently GM for the Cosmere RPG system, as I'm a huge Cosmere nerd, as well as Plotweaver (the system behind Cosmere!). I believe that both the players and the GM need to be having fun for a game to flow well. I love creating collaborative stories, and will endeavor to incorporate your character's backstory in the game. I can be a stickler for canon and the rules - but that doesn't mean I won't allow players their cool moments! I try my best to give every player the attention they deserve. I welcome all players, if you have any questions or concerns please message me and we will work together to find a resolution c: Profile pic by Dandelians! https://dandelians.carrd.co/

Character creation

Creating your character

Please note you will have to sign an NDA to play! Players will begin at level 1. Character creation will happen during Session 0, but if people have ideas they're welcome to send them through beforehand. All details will be provided upon signing the NDA.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have both a headset and microphone and access to a web browser. They should be able to run Foundry, as well as have a Discord account to access the voice channel and chats. No account or fee necessary for Foundry.

What Danger (Gabrielle) brings to the table

Players can expect a rich, narrative story filled with drama, high stakes, and a focus on characters. Because this is a playtest system, Rules as Written will be preferred in order to give accurate feedback (at least until open beta) but to keep the game flowing I will happily use Rule of Cool, especially during important moments.

Safety

How Danger (Gabrielle) creates a safe table

Every player will be asked to fill in a google form when they sign up, with questions on Lines and Veils as well as expectations. They will also be set up with a private channel on the server in order to message me. The Lines and Veils document will be pinned to the relevant channel for everyone's reference. We will go over Lines and Veils during Session 0, and Foundry itself has a safety card feature that is anonymous and useable by everyone.
