About the adventure
🎪A whimsical circus to enjoy🎪 🎁Gifts to be given! Or taken!?🎁 🧹Hags and bullywugs and Owlbears Oh my!🧹 Once every eight years, the fantastic Witchlight Carnival touches down on your world, bringing joy to one settlement after the next. Its owners, Mister Witch and Mister Light, know how to put on a good show. But there’s more to this magical extravaganza than meets the eye! The carnival is a gateway to a fantastic Feywild domain unlike anything found on the Material Plane. Time has not been kind to this realm, however, and dark days lie ahead unless someone can thwart the dastardly schemes of the Hourglass Coven. Come for the performance, stay because there might no way out...

About me
Been playing TTRPG's for over 14 years, 10 of those GM'ing and I've completed my fourth year doing full time GM work with StartPlaying! A lover of creating a enjoyable plot, and equally the random chaos that players can throw at me at a moments notice. I'm Scottish, so a heads up for a slight accent, all are welcome at the table, new or old, veteran or greenhorn, the dice don't care as long as they are rolled. I have done event work with Gehenna Gaming at PAX Unplugged 2024, PAX East 2025, UK Games Expo 2025 and GenCon 2025, I have worked for Project Hedron since GenCon 2025 as an independant contractor when required and have playtested content for companies such as Imagining Games and Dungeon Realms. For some of my Convention review feedback please check this spreadsheet or the review from Erik “Sleiphner” below. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16TFqdsg_tK5d3tpRvFtQZCFwzBKUzoae_wTWGE5j-4M/edit?gid=0#gid=0 I will be at GenCon 2026 with DeathWish as per StartPlaying and Working at the TTRPGive Charity event.

Creating your character
character creation will be done during the first session and all party members will start at level 1. They will use the content I share on D&D beyond. Stats will be rolled for. If your stats are lower than a 73 re roll them. Almost anything is not banned from my table that is *Official* Content. I do not use UA and I personally have Keen mind as a feat banned. The reasoning for this is I help new players learn the game and Keen mind is very much a crutch for the following scenario "*insert question here*" "DM what is the answer?" -player asking "You should check your notes to see if you have it written down." -DM "I have keen mind therefore I remember everything." -Player This is not a healthy way for players to learn to take notes. There is zero option for me to reward note taking and I find it can stop any "moment of realisation" sparks of joy when the players work out stuff on their own so I dont use it at my table.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Plays will need a working microphone, a free d&d beyond account, a free Roll20 account and a free discord account so they can access all the content I provide during the campaign. When joining the discord please read server rules, table rules and then @me to confirm you have read them and understand so I can give you a member role. Discord https://discord.gg/Ct23KdHPdd The D&D beyond link will be attached into the discord server as will the roll20.
What JustKyle brings to the table
I will content share on D&D beyond so that everything I own the players will have access to, On roll20 there will be virtual maps and tokens for the players to use and follow along the campaign with. I will also use ambient music to help immerse players into the world around them. Alongside this players will create a backstory to why their character is a part of the campaign which can be used to create homebrew side quests and rewards for those quests.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action, if you spend full action get full heal from potion otherwise roll. Anyone can in theory pray to gods for help, it will have consequences if the prayer is answered and will be explained as part of session 0s you can pitch an idea of what you want to do within a turn that is out of the box thinking and I will come up with a way for that to work in theory but will give the good and bad results to you before you accept the attempt. If you agree before i've explained the bad, I will still do it.

Safety
How JustKyle creates a safe table
As per all my campaigns/one shots the Luxton check system and the open door policy will be put in place and this will be explained during the first session. there may be elements of horror and supernatural thriller embedded into the campaign but during the first session we can discuss triggers and things that we wouldn't want to see in a session. If you would prefer, please contact me on SPG through the message system so we can discuss it one to one. There will be a 0 tolerance policy to discrimination of any kind and as such if this occurs they will be dealt with immediately and removed from further sessions. When looking through the content warning most are the potentials. certain things can be edited and change with minimal backwork and others I am happy to do some work on behind the scenes to change the plotline. The sexual content trigger is flagged as a heads up that npcs show they have relationships, they will potentially flirt if their tastes match up but anything further is a "fade to black"
