About the adventure
Chariot of the Angels is a cinematic scenario for ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, originally released alongside the First Edition rules and updated for play using the Evolved Edition ruleset, including updated battlemaps. The scenario is designed to unfold over three to four sessions within a broad, escalating narrative. It begins as routine contract work. A hazardous cargo run along the Gauntlet, hauling a restricted tritium shipment for a Weyland-Yutani account to a newly established frontier colony. No investigation. No detours. No complications expected. Just a delivery that needs to be completed on schedule. You are not heroes. This is your day job. ================================================== STATUS: ONLINE // MU/TH/UR 6000 // WEYLAND-YUTANI STANDARD TERMINAL // OS EE v1.5 (LATEST VERSION) // DEEP SPACE TRANSIT // INTERFACE 2264 ================================================== █ PERSONNEL MANIFEST MILLER, VANESSA — CAPTAIN DAVIS, LEAH — CORPORATE LIAISON RYE, KAYLA — SCIENCE OFFICER CHAM, LYRON — CARGO HANDLER WILSON, JOHN J. — PILOT ================================================== // █ QUERY SENT SOURCE: CREW QUERY: WHAT’S THE STORY, MU/TH/UR? ================================================== // █ RESPONSE RECEIVED SOURCE: MU/TH/UR 6000 OBJECTIVE LOG: VESSEL: USCSS MONTERO CLASS: STARFREIGHTER STATUS: OPERATIONAL MISSION PARAMETERS: ORIGIN: ANCHORPOINT STATION DESTINATION: SUTTER’S WORLD SYSTEM: ZETA¹ RETICULI SECTOR CARGO: TRITIUM GAS CARGO STATE: DECAYING / STABILIZED END PRODUCT: HELIUM-3 MISSION NOTES: >> CARGO CONFIGURATION IS NON-STANDARD >> VESSEL NOT RATED FOR COMMERCIAL TOWING >> CONTRACT APPROVED FOR LIMITED RUN PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: >> DELIVER TRITIUM CARGO TO SUTTER’S WORLD COLONY >> CONFIRM TRANSFER AND PAYMENT >> RETURN VESSEL TO GAUNTLET ROUTE SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: MAINTAIN CARGO INTEGRITY AVOID UNAUTHORIZED DEVIATION STATUS: TRANSIT COMPLETE CREW AWAKENING FROM HYPERSLEEP APPROACHING DESTINATION // █ LOG COMPLETE

About me
I am a passionate storyteller and knew I wanted to be a writer when I was fourteen. My day job is a Technical Writer, building documentation and knowledge bases for hardware and software companies, but storytelling has always spilled into everything else I do. I write, direct, produce, and edit a long-form documentary series for YouTube; have written both original and commissioned screenplays; have published a memoir; and have had essays and short fiction published in various outlets. GMing scratches every storytelling itch I have. It’s writing, directing, editing, improvisation, performance, and collaboration happening in real time with the players. After running games across a wide range of systems and tones, I’ve learned to adapt to what a group is looking for and build sessions around the rhythm that develops at the table, whether that means investigation, horror, character drama, tension, absurdity, or all of the above. My goal is always to make the world feel responsive and alive while giving players enough freedom to surprise themselves, their fellow players, and me.

Creating your character
Chariot of the Angels is a short campaign (a cinematic scenario), approximately 3–4 sessions long. You do not need to create a character in Demiplane. You will be assigned a pre-generated character directly in Foundry. The core rules will be shared through Demiplane (free account), and it may be useful to browse the Alien Nexus beforehand to become familiar with the game's basic structure and character sheet organization. Before the campaign begins, I will contact the group through Discord, and we will decide how characters are assigned. This may be done by player choice, by a random d6 roll using a hidden assignment table, or by full random assignment. Although this is a pre-written cinematic scenario, I introduce additional variations and changes. No two runs are the same. Players are welcome to join future sessions if they want to experience the story from a different character’s perspective. NOTE: While the characters are depicted visually as male or female, this has no mechanical or narrative impact. Sex and gender can be ignored during play. Characters are referred to by name or using they/them pronouns to preserve clarity and comfort.
MILLER - Captain Age: 46 Personality: Thrifty Bio: You're tired of being a corporate cog and want out. If you could finally get enough money to get your own ship, you could start controlling your own destiny on the Frontier. The company has offered you a lease-to-buy option on the Montero, but that doesn't make any sense unless you can afford to overhaul her for better cargo runs. Without an engine upgrade to allow her to tractor bigger loads, you are losing thousands of dollars every day. You need to find a way to make enough money to lease the Montero and upgrade her, or, better yet, go independent and replace her with a newer ship. DAVIS - Navigation Officer Age: 27 Personality: Adrenaline Junkie Bio: Safety limits? Those are lies. Any vehicle or piece of equipment can be pushed past the red line and still work fine. You do it as often as you can, just to keep from getting bored. Unfortunately, daily routines are never that exciting, and that's why you've developed a little stimulant problem. Your Weyland-Yutani prescription has just about run out, and you need to get some more fast. You'll do just about whatever it takes to keep yourself from crashing, even if it puts you in danger. Whether it's an adrenaline rush or substance abuse, all that matters to you is that you are flying high. Lyron Cham - Engineering Officer Age: 32 Personality: Loyal Bio: You grew up alone. Your parents sold power loaders on the frontier for a living, and did not have much time for you. Hopping from colony to colony also meant you never were in any place long enough to make real friends. This crew is the closest thing to a family you've ever had—dysfunction and all. You would do anything to protect them, even put yourself at risk. RYE - Technician/Assistant Engineer Age: 28 Personality: Bitter Bio: Your job sucks. Practically everyone on this ship gets paid more than you for doing nothing. You want to do less work and get paid more for it. Your younger brother back on Earth is chronically ill, and your family keeps begging you to send more money to support them. If there's a way to increase your share on this run, you'll do it. Loyalty doesn't pay the bills, so if you have to flip on someone to make more money, so be it. Desperate times call for desperate measures. WILSON - Corporate Liaison Age: 43 Personality: Ambitious Bio: You've been embedded with the Montero crew for a good six months now, evaluating their performance to see if the ship and crew should be scrapped and fired, or promoted and given a new ship. You've actually come to like this motley assortment, but there is no room for advancement in this work. Now, a special order has come your way, and you finally see your chance to climb. You pull this off and you can parlay it into a fortune.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To keep onboarding smooth and get us up to speed quickly, please complete the following steps before the session. None of this is difficult, but doing it ahead of time helps avoid technical delays once we start. What we are using • Foundry: The virtual tabletop where we play, roll dice, and manage characters • Demiplane: A rules platform where I can share the core rulebook with you Steps 1. Join the Discord server (required). All communication, coordination, and setup will happen there. 2. Creating a Demiplane account is optional, but recommended. If you share your Demiplane email or username with me, I can grant you access to the core Alien RPG rulebook. 3. Send me a direct message on Discord confirming you’re ready. If you have a Demiplane account, include the associated email or username. 4. Once characters are assigned, I will provide you with access to the Foundry game. You will be able to set your own password when you first log in. You do not need to create a character ahead of time. All characters are pre-generated and will be assigned to you in Foundry. If you are new to Foundry, this short guide will help you get oriented before the session: https://foundryvtt.com/article/player-orientation/ The system is straightforward, but reviewing the basics ahead of time will make the first session run more smoothly.
What Dan brings to the table
Chariot of the Angels is a highly immersive entry into ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game (Evolved Edition), designed to go beyond a simple introductory one-shot. The scenario includes custom graphics, NPC voice acting, ambient music, lighting, and sound design to reinforce atmosphere and tension. The focus is on mood, pacing, and psychological pressure. The game is run largely according to the written rules to preserve player agency, risk, and real consequences, with flexibility applied only when the Rule of Cool meaningfully serves the story. Combat is dangerous and often brief. The heart of the experience lies in dread, stress, and the psychological toll of being trapped in a desperate situation with limited options. Each character has a personal agenda revealed across the scenario’s three acts. These agendas are private and optional to share. They exist to give players an internal compass and narrative momentum, especially for those new to roleplaying. You decide when, how, or if your character’s motivations come into conflict with the group. The table is run as a supportive space. Players are always free to step back, but check-ins happen regularly, inviting each person to share what their character is thinking, feeling, or considering next. If the group feels stuck, options are framed without removing agency. The goal is not performance, but engagement and discovery. Out of character, table comfort is non-negotiable. A respectful, collaborative environment is enforced. Belligerent or deliberately disruptive behavior that makes others uncomfortable will receive one gentle warning. If it continues, the player will be removed from the game at the GM’s discretion. This is never personal. The experience of the entire table always takes priority over any individual.
Homebrew rules
SIGNATURE ITEMS In ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game (First Edition), player characters could use their signature item once per session, at a time of their choosing, to remove one point of stress. This rule was removed in the Core Rules of the Evolved Edition, but it remains a useful inclusion, especially for new players. For that reason, this rule is carried forward for this scenario.

How Dan creates a safe table
Player comfort comes first, but so does clarity. Chariot of the Angels is an intense scenario, and its tone does not soften once play begins. The expectation is that players are making an informed choice about the experience. Think of it as a hard-R science fiction horror film: the content warnings matter, and the tone is sustained. Before the session, I outline what the game includes. ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game centers on dread, stress, and desperation. This scenario contains body horror, substance use, factional violence, cult dynamics, and human-on-human conflict, including possible PVP. If that is not what you want from a game, this may not be the right fit, and that is completely fine. During play, you can pause or redirect at any time. Speak up, or use Foundry’s safety tools. No explanation is required. If something is flagged, we adjust or skip the content and move on. After each session, we take time to step out of character. The goal is to keep the horror in the fiction, not at the table. The material is intense, but the environment remains controlled, respectful, and collaborative.
