About the adventure
This is a Dread game where you decide where we are, what the horror scenario is, and what kind of spooky things you might face. From there you will make your characters, and I will improvise a custom game just for you that will be filled with chills, thrills, and lots of spooky fun! Dread is a rules light horror RPG that uses a Jenga tower* instead of dice to decide if your character succeeds at their action or not. However in this game, failure means death! *We will not be able to use a Jenga tower online but I do have an alternative that is not dice.

About me
I love TTRPGs! I have been playing D&D and other TTRPGs for about 15 years, I have been GMing for the last 6 years, and I have been GMing professionally for the last 2 years. I already work as a GM for three companies (Wizard Staffing Co, Rough Magic, and Chicago Role Players' Guild) but I wanted to expand my reach into the online world. In my years of GMing I have found that I really enjoy facilitating fun experiences for others and I love telling stories collaboratively. I went to collage to study acting and voiceover and I like to use what I learned along with my over 15 years of improv training to bring my stories and NPCs to life. I also use what I learned as an improv teacher to teach GMing workshops and offer private GMing coaching. I am friendly and respectful and so excited to GM for cool people!

Creating your character
You will create your character at the beginning of the session by answering a series of questions.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account and to add me as a friend so I can add you to the group chat where we will do the video call for the game.
What Ben Guest brings to the table
I want to make sure you feel safe but your characters don't. I will use voices, vocal sound effects, and narrative tension to thrill and scare you.
Homebrew rules
Instead of using a Jenga tower you will be guessing numbers. I will roll a d20 and secretly record the number. This will be the death number. When you would draw from the tower you will instead guess a number between 1 and 20. If you don't guess the death number, your character is safe for now, you succeed at what you were doing, and the number(s) you guessed cannot be guessed again until a new death number is rolled and the guesses reset. If you guess the death number, your character suffers a catastrophe and usually dies. A new death number is rolled and recorded and the number guesses reset.

How Ben Guest creates a safe table
We will discuss what everyone's Lines and Veils are at the beginning of the session. During a session someone can pause the game with an x card by making an x with their hands. We will also take a break part way through the session and can talk about the session to decompress afterward.
