About the adventure

Lord Inquisitor Hieronymo Drake is dead. His former interrogator Sylvestrine Horst, now elevated to an inquisitor herself, has called for the first conclave of inquisitors in the several years since his death, claiming the need to coordinate their efforts against the sector’s most significant threats, and left unsaid, to see a new lord Inquisitor put in place. But can the other Inquisitors truly trust any other in this endeavour? Which have ulterior motives in mind? Heresy is everywhere, hidden across the sector, even in the dark corners of the inquisition itself. Each Inquisitor schemes to save the Imperium in their own distinct way but left unchecked any problem can quickly fester into sector-threatening. Ripped straight from the Inquisitor’s GM guide using the Heresies Macharia campaign framework (and a lot of work) the game will be long-term as it is based around seven conclaves each taking place years apart and with an overarching story. The game is going to be based around the group as a cell of acolytes to an inquisitor dealing with the numerous threats to the Macharian system while also navigating the politics of the inquisition and helping (or perhaps hindering) their patron’s rise to lord inquisitor of the Macharia sector. People who enjoy roleplay, investigation and intrigue are likely to enjoy this game the most, and those who make characters with their own goals will get the most out of the game.

About me

Hi everyone I’m Terrance, 34 years old. I've been GMing for 15+ years, running paid games for 5 of them I realize I am kind of late to the start playing party but this seems to be the place everyone is looking nowadays. What started as a fun hobby of DMing for family and close friends has turned into a lifetime of making stories with other people. My interests in the hobby range from high traditional fantasy to weird post-apocalyptic to science fiction or historical fiction. I have played and ran a lot of different systems and settings and love to mix and match them in my games. Some of my favourite media is Warhammer, both fantasy and 40K, A Song of Ice and Fire, any of the pulp fiction written by Micheal Moorcock, The Witcher games as well as history particularly Western Medieval, Ancient Greece and Rome.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be using the options in the core rulebook and those in the inquisition handbook using the character creator in foundry where I own both of the premium modules. Patron will be the same thing, however with the restriction that they must be an inquisitor.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Voice and text communication will be on a private discord server so a discord account is needed as well as a free forge-vtt account as that’s where I host my games using Foundry VTT.

What Terrance brings to the table

I am rule of cool, I will bend and break the system to your advantage and do things not in the book all the time because magic, however I am also of the mind power always comes with a price. I however am unfortunately not cool myself so struggle with the voices (although I will occasionally attempt, and fail) but my NPCs have ambitions and opinions and I make them 3 dimensional in other ways. The universe is always moving around you and reacting to you, I see it as a player in the game and try to treat it as such which means consequences to actions and things moving forward with or without you. I have had a couple of TPKs in my life, although not a common occurrence, and player death is on the table. Fair warning I am not a lore-master when it comes to Warhammer 40K lore but I do intend to stay as close to lore as I can manage although expect me to mess with small things, not lore breaking things (on purpose).

Safety

How Terrance creates a safe table

When you join my game we will have a private discussion where you can bring up any problem situations. I then go over peoples boundaries in session 0 together, no one knows who has what boundaries unless a person wants to talk about it. Obviously in any situation if anyone is uncomfortable with something happening they are welcome to call a pause to the game and be talked about.
