About the adventure

In 2004, a small group of online friends meet in real life for the first time with a mission in mind: figure out how the TV Odyssey Studio simply disappeared without a trace back in 1992. The Latchkey Kids investigate this small desert town where lips are sealed, but secrets are abundant. Using a new Carved by Brindlewood system, you'll put together clues to solve the mysteries of Deep Lake, New Mexico. Watch the Tapes. Meet the Big Man. Fight the Big Hungers. Solve the mystery.

About me

Two things to me that make a great community are food and stories, which are both brought and shared at a table. At my table, I want your hunger for curiosity and creativity to be satiated. My tables are also safe places, where all sorts of ideas are welcome. I want everyone to walk away feeling heard. However, I do not tolerate bigotry and prejudice at my table; any and all BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, Disabled/Chronically Ill, and Neurodivergent folx are welcome and encouraged at my table. Different and new perspectives bring rich stories. With a decade of TTRPG experience, over half that time in the GM's seat now, I consider myself to be a teacher and a student, willing to guide and willing to learn. My favorite systems are Monster of the Week, and I'm a big fan of running Play by Post games. I'm a Virgo/Libra cusp, a Trekkie, and have a dog and two cats.

Character creation

Creating your character

During Session Zero, we will discuss Character Creation. However, it helps to have some ideas in mind when coming to our initial meet and greet! All characters will be fresh with no advancements.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Upon joining, you'll be granted access to the Rollers' Joint, a Discord server where I host my games and allow others to do the same (or just hang out!). From there, I'll get you added into the appropriate categories/channels and provide you access to a variety of resources as well. Feel free to get a general idea of gameplay prior to joining, if you'd like, but I'm also available to guide folks through the experience as well. Alongside PDFs of the core rulebook, I'll also share quick reference guides and cheat sheets!

What Urvy Fitz brings to the table

For my players, I provide whatever resources I have when it comes to playing materials, such as rulebooks and quick guides. I do tend to embrace the Rule of Cool in most situations; though I do make difficult calls here and there, in order to keep a balance and not set unintended precedence.

How Urvy Fitz creates a safe table

Upon joining the Campaign, I'll send you a link to an Anonymous Lines and Veils document for you to fill out; this sheet is flexible, to be filled out whenever and wherever as life changes. During our Session Zero, we will discuss triggers and content together to make sure that everyone is on the same page, using this document. We'll also use these Sheets to help keep track of Character Profiles and other game components. Outside of the Lines and Veils, I also run bio breaks during my sessions, but have an open table policy anyway if you need to get up at any time; I just ask for communication so I don't call on you for anything while you're grabbing water. I use the Discord server for Aftercare, Debriefing, and Bleed purposes as well!
