About the adventure

Night City doesn't care who you are. It only cares what you're willing to do. In 2077, the city is a neon monument to ambition, desperation, and opportunity. Megacorporations wage quiet wars from gleaming towers while gangs, fixers, nomads, media, and edgerunners fight over the scraps left behind. Every district has its own culture. Every faction has its own agenda. Every job has consequences. Some come seeking fame. Some come seeking revenge. Some are running from their past. Others are chasing a future they refuse to surrender. Whatever brought you to Night City, it won't stay buried for long. This is a character-driven sandbox where your backstories, relationships, ambitions, allies, rivals, and enemies become the foundation of the campaign. Old mistakes resurface. New opportunities appear. Every decision shapes your reputation and changes how the city responds to you. Jobs may begin as simple contracts, but every choice can open new doors, create unexpected allies, spark dangerous rivalries, or pull you deeper into the city's web of corporate politics, criminal empires, and personal vendettas. Night City is constantly changing. The question isn't whether you'll survive. It's what kind of legend you'll leave behind. Whether you're a hardened Solo, ambitious Media, brilliant Tech, charismatic Rockerboy, calculating Exec, gifted Netrunner, resourceful Nomad, streetwise Fixer, dedicated Lawman, or compassionate Medtech, your story matters, and your choices will help shape the world around you. Inspired by Cyberpunk 2077, Edgerunners, Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, Mr. Robot, and Altered Carbon, this campaign emphasizes meaningful choices, memorable NPCs, investigation, action, faction politics, and long-term character development within a living Night City. While Cyberpunk RED is a system I am actively learning, I bring approximately 12 years of Game Master experience, a passion for long-form campaign design, character-focused storytelling, and collaborative worldbuilding. My goal is to create a campaign where every player's backstory becomes an integral part of the larger narrative. New and experienced players alike are welcome.

About me

I’m a 37-year-old Game Master with a deep passion for collaborative storytelling, immersive worlds, and long-form character-driven campaigns. Tabletop gaming has been a major part of my life for years, and since shortly before COVID, professional GMing has been my full-time work. Over the years I’ve run multiple systems and settings, with a particular love for D&D 5e, Adventures in Middle-earth, and Chronicles of Darkness. My favorite campaigns tend to blend strong roleplay, atmosphere, mystery, tension, and meaningful character development. I especially enjoy building stories around player backstories and weaving their choices directly into the larger narrative. I also enjoy homebrew design and adapting systems to fit unique settings and themes. Some of my larger projects have included adapting settings like Elden Ring and Dragon Age into D&D, as well as creating crossover and conversion systems involving World/Chronicles of Darkness and Lord of Mysteries. Especially Lord of Mysteries... Some of my favorite settings and inspirations include Middle-earth, Ravenloft, Eberron, Wildemount, Dune, and the World of Darkness universe. Outside of online GMing, I’ve also been working on building an after-school LARPing program focused on creativity, storytelling, teamwork, and roleplay for younger players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will begin during Session 0 and continue as needed before Session 1. New players are absolutely welcome, and I am happy to help with both character creation and learning the rules. No prior Cyberpunk RED experience is required. Curiosity, initiative, investment in your character, and a willingness to engage with the world are far more important than system mastery.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before Session 1, players should: • Create a free Discord account. • Join the campaign Discord server. • Have a reliable internet connection and a quality microphone/headset. • Create or have access to a Roll20 account. • Review the Cyberpunk RED core rules (no prior experience required). • Read any campaign primers, setting information, or handouts provided before the game. • Come to Session 0 with a character concept, even if it is only a rough idea.

What Ashley brings to the table

My games emphasize meaningful choices, memorable NPCs, long-term consequences, and stories built around the characters themselves. Your backgrounds, ambitions, relationships, allies, enemies, and personal goals will become part of the narrative. The decisions you make will influence the future of Berlin and the people who call it home. Players can expect: • Conspiracies, investigations, and hidden agendas • Corporate intrigue and political maneuvering • Dangerous jobs and high-stakes decisions • Character-driven story arcs and personal growth • Memorable allies, rivals, and factions • Long-term consequences that shape the world • A collaborative and welcoming table environment

Homebrew rules

The campaign uses mostly RAW Cyberpunk RED with an emphasis on character relationships, reputation, faction influence, and narrative consequences.

Safety

How Ashley creates a safe table

Creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment is important to me. Before the campaign begins, we will have a Session 0 to discuss expectations, table culture, character concepts, campaign themes, and any concerns players may have. I use a combination of: • Lines & Veils • X, N, & O Cards • Open Door Policy • Ongoing Check-Ins Players may communicate concerns verbally, through Discord messages, or privately at any time. No explanation is required to use a safety tool. If something makes a player uncomfortable, we will address it respectfully and move forward. Cyberpunk RED often explores themes such as violence, crime, corporate exploitation, poverty, inequality, corruption, addiction, body modification, loss, trauma, and moral ambiguity. During Session 0 we will discuss what subjects are appropriate for the table and establish any Lines (subjects excluded from play) and Veils (subjects that may exist in the setting but remain off-screen). Because this campaign is heavily character-driven, we will also discuss boundaries regarding character conflict, betrayal, romance, and other potentially sensitive interactions before they arise during play. I encourage feedback throughout the campaign. If something is not working, if a player has concerns, or if someone simply wants to discuss their experience, I am always happy to listen. My goal is to create a table where everyone feels comfortable contributing, exploring their character, and engaging with the story. At the end of the day, we are here to tell a great story, support one another, and have fun doing it.
