About the adventure
"Greetings, adventurer!" A smiling elf with long black hair tied back and narrow eyes greets you from behind the counter. "Oh, don't try to pull the wool over my eyes, I can see the look in yours. Sure, adventurer might not be an official job title, but we can always tell, can't we?" He gives you a smirk and a wink. He holds a glass to his chest with one hand, underdeveloped compared to his other, which wipes it clean with a rag. "So, what brings you to the Friendly Mimic? Fame? Fortune? Knowledge? I assume you're fairly new on your journey since you're here and not uptown at the Golden Cask with the already-established adventurers. Oh, don't look at me like that, I know what this place is. My name's Lu'driel, by the way, and I'm the owner of this fine establishment." He puts the glass away and leans forward on the bar counter. "Between you and me, there's a lot more of you than there are them. But let's not dwell on that too long, I find it brings the mood down. If you're looking for a party, there's a sign-up board at the end of the bar. I assume you can read and write, but if not, I'll help you out after the dinner rush." "Oh, you have a group already? How wonderful! How many rooms, then?" He slides you the requested number of keys after money exchanges hands. "Each bed comes with a free dinner. Breakfast is an extra gold piece if you want it, but make sure to be down here before the sun crests over the southern rooftops. That's when we start the evening stew. Enjoy your stay!"

About me
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, everyone in-between or irrespective of that binary...hi! You can call me Elliot, because that's my name. You may know my work from podcasts such as my current project. Issues. If not, then know that I'm passionate about getting people into games that are less-represented. My specialties, according to players I've had, include long-term storytelling, interesting NPCs, and incorporating my players backstories in ways that still surprise them. If you're interested in playing in a game catered to your wants and characters with dramatic twists and cliffhangers, we're gonna get along great.

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during a free, collaborative session 0. You should come to that session with an idea of the character you want to play, but leave enough room for the GM to fill in some blanks and be able to surprise you with answers to your mysteries. Characters will start at level 1, and Nimble provides stat arrays for you to choose from within the players' book, which will be provided.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have an account on both Roll20 and Discord. When you join the game, you will be invited to a private DIscord where you can meet the other players in the game, chat with the GM, and work on character ideas before we get started! Other than that, come prepared to be creative and improvise. I enjoy building the world and telling the story with my players, so be ready to answer questions and decide things about your hometown, your people, etc.
What Elliot brings to the table
I will provide both the base rules and character creation books upon your acceptance to the game. I do my best to work with what my players give me, customizing the story to meet their wants and needs while providing plenty of surprises along the way. Your backstory and character will be integral to helping create the world and story that we play through, and you will have authority along with the GM on aspects of the world pertaining to your character. If you play a Dwarf, we will work together to determine what Dwarven culture is like and how they interact with the other cultures around them. The only hard rule I have about world creation I have is that there will be no fantasy racism. While the various races may have once been separated out, there is no reason why the Dwarves, Elves, Humans, etc wouldn't have interacted with each other and mixed by the point in history that our story will be taking place. The goal is to have a living world where players can come and go within the story, so I will be keeping a channel of session notes within the Discord and do my best to maintain a timeline of the world as it is impacted by your actions.

How Elliot creates a safe table
There will be a living Lines and Veils document that can be updated by players at any time, anonymously, so that you can add whatever you need, no questions asked. Players will also be required to fill out the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist before Session 0 and results will be gone over so that everyone is on the same page. The X card will always be in play, either through typing X into the Discord chat or saying X out loud. No questions will be asked about the reason for using the X card, it will simply be respected and utilized unless the person activating it wants to go into more detail.
