About the adventure

Welcome to the Dalelands, the most idyllic corner of the Forgotten Realms you’ll ever see. The everyday people just try to get by while adventurers cross the Realms, uncovering the secrets of Myth Drannor or finding treasure in the depths of the Tomb of Damara. You are one of those adventurers. Her Radiance, Dareen Travaskyr made a pilgrimage to the Dancing Place, where the gods once convened. While worshiping, she had a vision that the heir to the throne of Daggerdale still lived. You are the adventurers hired to escort her to Daggerdale. Of course, the road won’t be easy. There are drow, dragons and mind flayers to encounter. Plus, the stewards to the throne do not want Her Radiance to reveal the identity of the hidden heir. Can you protect Dareen? Will you help reveal the identity of the king? Will you help him on his errands to earn the right to the throne? Can you keep him alive long enough to rule? This is a level three to ten campaign for Dungeons and Dragons 5.5. Players can build their heroes using the 5.5 Player’s Handbook and the Heroes of Faerun Sourcebook.

About me

Garrett is a podcast host, of Threat Detected, Threats From Gallifrey and the long-running One Ring AP Threats From Mirkwood. He has written for D&D, Paranoia and Savage Worlds. His games are pulpy with a good amount of roleplaying. If you like jumping out of a moving vehicle onto a horse and hitting the rider with a flaming golf club, you've found the perfect gamemaster. I run for teenagers plus age-wise. I like gaming with kids, but I prefer the older age demographics to avoid the distractions that come with an open age range. I've proven myself to be amongst the best Dungeon Masters in the country by being selected by Baldman Games to repeatedly be selected to run the coveted DDXP slots at GenCon, which are reserved only for the best Dungeon Masters to provide an extraordinary experience for the players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players can build their heroes using the 5.5 Player’s Handbook and the Heroes of Faerun Sourcebook. Point buy or standard array both work.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Review videos and books concerning the Dalelands to get a feel for the setting. Otherwise have a good time building your character.

What Garrett brings to the table

I will provide maps and tokens of key NPCs and monsters. There will be music now and again (to avoid getting distracting). I will provide the tale and gaming experience on roll20.

Homebrew rules

I use a modified skill challenge ruleset involving getting so many successes before three failures. Success by 5+ counts as two successes and nat 20s count as three successes.
