About the adventure

Forty years ago, six heroes killed the Hollow King and saved the realm of Thalmyr. They were called the Unyielding Dawn, but now they are the Wardens of the Realm. When robed figures wearing the Warden's sigil burn down an inn and drag away an innkeeper's daughter, you're the only ones left who care. The trail will lead you across Thalmyr—through haunted libraries, cliffside fortresses, and eerie cathedrals. You'll uncover secrets the Wardens buried years ago. And you'll answer the question: can you save the realm from the people who already saved it? This game is for players who love morally gray antagonists, found family tropes, and campaigns where the villains have tragic backstories you can almost sympathize with. Combat will be dangerous. Roleplay will carry real weight; your choices will shift who fears you, who trusts you, and who hunts you.

About me

I may not have as much experience GM'ing as some people in the community, but I've never been the type to dip my toes in the water. I dove straight into the deep end. In my day job, I'm a screenwriter. I love thinking about character arcs and emotional beats, and I bring that to every session I run. Give me your orphaned rogue or your disgraced knight, and I'll weave them into the plot like they were always meant to be there. I'm a Black, queer, USAF veteran who believes that the best TTRPG tables are the ones where everyone feels seen, safe, and excited to show up. I don't do grimdark misery tours or accept "it's what my character would do" excuses for bad behavior. I do fun, interesting settings designed to give my players a challenge and a memorable journey for their characters. New player friendly! Open to homebrew as long as you run it by me first! Let's get together and tell a story!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need: -A Microphone - A Discord account for communication Discord accounts are free! If you do not have a discord account already, they are quick and easy to set up~ Other than that, I require that my players are respectful to each other and the DM both during and outside of games.

What Kevin brings to the table

I provide a FoundryVTT Server for our game that will house our character sheets and battlemaps. I provide a Discord server for Voice and Text Chat during game sessions, as well as interpersonal communication between sessions. I provide ambient music during session. My character voices are NOT the best, but I am taking voice acting classes so they will improve over time (hopefully!).

Homebrew rules

Potions & Consumables: Bonus Action to use normally in combat. You can use an action in combat to heal the maximum amount from the potion or to give/throw the potion to an ally. If you give someone a potion using your action, they will use the potion normally (rolling for the healing done by the potion). Critical Hits: If a Critical Hit is rolled in combat, damage will be rolled as normal and the maximum possible amount of damage will be added to the damage roll. Critical Initiative: If you roll a Natural 20 on Initiative, you get to determine your place in Initiative Order. Exhaustive Spellcasting: You can cast spells when you have no spell slots left, but you will gain a point of exhaustion equal to the level of the spell you are casting.

How Kevin creates a safe table

I will be pinning links to a Lines and Veils document and a Stars and Wishes document in the Discord server before Session Zero. Session Zero will go over all of my rules to make sure we're on the same page (and when we're done, we'll utilize the rest of our time for our introductory session!).
