About the adventure

Espionage, factional intrigue, ancestral powers, and conspiracies intertwine in this magical Cold War. Your choices shape the city of Calindir's destiny: will you succumb to one of the great powers or forge your own destiny? This sandbox adventure focuses of roleplaying, investigation and creative thinking. It will include plenty of: > Intrigue & Espionage - Calindir's fractions vie for control, each trying to undermine the others. How will you change the balance of power? > Mystery - what is seen isn't always what is. Deducing what is happening will tell you who pulls the strings and what will happen next. > Mythic Spirituality - appease the spirits of this land to unleash unique, powerful and volatile magics. > Tactical Warfare - violence is still an option, one you'll use often. When stealth and subtlety fail, draw your weapons and slay your foes.

About me

> Want to explore a rich, vivid and responsive world? > Enjoy fast, dynamic, interesting combat? > Want the power to tell your character's story your way, going off the railroads to follow whatever goals you wish? > Looking for a gameplay experience where every NPC has a name, goals and a story of their own? According to Roll20, I have logged over 1500 hours (a lot of that is game prep, but still). I've also run at least four long-term campaigns in person. My philosophy is about fast combat, creative play and player freedom. With a modified 5e ruleset, combat and roleplaying are smooth, dangerous and fun. I write about D&D and games here: https://www.unboringdungeons.com/

What William brings to the table

I'll provide a virtual tabletop (VTT), including digital player sheets, dynamic lighting and custom quality battlemaps. This will include official 5e expansions like Xanathar's Guide, plus the result of dozens of hours of work creating unique maps, tokens, NPCs, monsters and mechanics. I also provide a written summary of each session. Every major NPC has a personality, including plans, desires and fears. Learning these isn't necessary but is often helpful.

Homebrew rules

> Drinking a potion is a bonus action > An optional limitbreak system - by pushing yourself to new heights, your attacks and spells become more powerful yet more volatile for a short while > Appeasing the spirits of the land will unlock Favor, which can power unique and volatile boons
