About the adventure
A D&D 5e Campaign of Samurai Houses, Black Powder, Political Intrigue, Cozy Bonds, and War Beneath the Earth Ryushima was once an island of oaths. Eight great cities, eight powerful daimyo, one sacred capital, and an emperor whose bloodline claims divine right over the Dragon-Nailed Isle. For generations, the warriors of Ryushima rode beneath lacquered banners, loosed arrows from horseback, protected ancestral roads, and settled disputes through ritual, steel, marriage, hostage politics, and war conducted beneath the shadow of tradition. Then the black ships came. Foreign traders and strange engineers arrived on Ryushima’s shores bearing black powder, cannon craft, forbidden maps, matchlock weapons, and the first crude kikō-yoroi — primitive mechanized armor suits that walk like iron demons and carry weapons no single warrior should be able to wield. Now the old order is cracking. The Crane Court clings to imperial legitimacy, rice law, road control, and sacred ritual. The Powder Compact believes Ryushima must modernize before foreign empires devour it. The Reed Banner League rises from coastal towns, shrines, smugglers, farmers, and the desperate poor who believe both throne and cannon will grind common folk into dust. And beneath all of it, something ancient claws upward. The underworld known as Kuragane-no-Hara, the Dark Iron Womb, stirs beneath the island. Breaches open under roads, mines, shrines, and granaries. Draconic beings called the Ketsu emerge from the dark — black-scaled, wounded, wrathful, and born from the blood and scales of the mythical dragon said to be pinned beneath Ryushima itself. You begin not as distant heroes, but as people bound to a home. Your town, your lord, your neighbors, your shrine roads, your family debts, your local festivals, your winter stores, your daimyo’s fragile protection — all of it matters. As war gathers on the horizon, you will be asked to defend what you love, choose what kind of loyalty is worth bleeding for, and decide whether tradition, revolution, or terrible progress deserves to survive. This campaign will blend brutal war drama, political intrigue, faction play, samurai-inspired fantasy, dark subterranean horror, and grounded slice-of-life moments. Expect quiet nights at roadside inns, tense court negotiations, battlefield chaos, village defense, festivals before tragedy, moral compromises, espionage, desperate alliances, and terrifying descents beneath the island where history has teeth. Ryushima is beautiful. Ryushima is divided. Ryushima is waking. And when arrow meets powder, every oath will be tested.

About me
🌟 Welcome to Realm Weaver Games! 🌟 Greetings, fellow adventurers! I'm Mauro, the creative force behind the magical tapestry of stories and adventures at Realm Weaver Games. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a wide-eyed newcomer to the world of Dungeons and Dragons, I'm here to embark on epic journeys with you. In the realm of imagination, I wear many hats — a dedicated player, a cunning Dungeon Master, and an ardent lover of the rich lore that breathes life into the fantastical landscapes of D&D. My realm of expertise lies predominantly in the mystical confines of 5th Edition, where the dice dance to the rhythm of our collective imaginations. Beyond the realms of dragons and dungeons, you'll find me immersed in a myriad of passions. When not shaping worlds in the realm of D&D, I'm concocting delightful creations in my kitchen, exploring the boundless realms of anime, losing myself in the pages of captivating books, and translating the visions in my mind onto canvas through the art of drawing. What truly sets my heart ablaze is the art of crafting unique and immersive experiences for my players. I delight in weaving intricate homebrew content, tailoring every twist and turn to suit the distinctive stories of those who brave the adventures by my side. Every campaign is a canvas, and each character, is a brushstroke, painting a vibrant tapestry of shared memories. So, fellow travelers, let us embark on a journey where imagination knows no bounds, where the dice roll in your favor, and where every story is a masterpiece waiting to unfold. May the enchantment of realms unknown guide us, and may our tales echo through the annals of Realm Weaver Games. May the dice always be in your favor, and may your adventures be nothing short of legendary! 🎲🧙♂️🌌

Creating your character
Characters should be tied to Ryushima in some meaningful way. You may be samurai retainers, shrine guardians, hunters, scouts, soldiers, artisans, couriers, smugglers, diplomats, war orphans, local champions, foreign-touched outsiders, or common people forced into history by the coming storm. Character creation will be further discussed during session 0. The campaign will work best for characters who care about at least one of the following: Their home town Their daimyo or clan Their family, shrine, guild, or military order The future of Ryushima The people caught between nobles, rebels, and war machines The mystery beneath the island You do not need to play a traditional samurai archetype, but your character should feel like they belong in or are meaningfully connected to this setting.
