About the adventure
You play Vigils, the Church's undercover operatives in the Inquisitorial Order. You carry a concealed sigil. Hidden, it keeps your cover. Revealed, it grants absolute authority and impunity, but using it costs your anonymity. Your current assignment: strangers have appeared in the lower city. Strangers aren't uncommon, they bring trade, labor, and news. They also bring crime, conspiracy, and heresy. That's why you exist. Find out who they are and what they're doing here. If something more sinister is growing down there, you smother it. That's what the Church demands. That's what you do. You operate in a city where the Church is not separate from life, it is life. Its bells mark the hours, its priests staff the courts, its order is enforced. You'll work informants, read rooms, and follow threads through a place that doesn't want to be read. Most of the work happens before blades are drawn. When combat comes, it's sharp and it matters. This mini-campaign is a complete story in 4-6 sessions with a defined ending. It is also Part 1 of a four-part campaign. Players who want to continue have a path forward, but this arc resolves on its own. This game is for players who like their fantasy close and human, more cold cobblestones than open skies, more loyalty tested than destiny chosen. It rewards attention, patience, and choices that carry weight. Themes include institutional pressure and moral ambiguity, handled with care.

About me
I'm Sov, full-time GM, system designer, and adventure writer. The first time I sat down at a TTRPG table, I went home and started writing. My own worlds, my own mechanics, my own stories. That creative drive never stopped and eventually became a career. I run exclusively original settings: entirely my own worlds, with their own lore, stories, creatures, and characters. I'm currently developing two original game systems alongside a D&D guildbook. I build worlds with weight: real history, powers with agendas, people with lives beyond what your characters need from them. Your characters live inside that world, and what they do genuinely matters. A story that couldn't have happened without the specific people sitting at that specific table.
