About the adventure

This game will take place in an adapted version of Eberron which is a high fantasy higher tech verging on magical steampunk adjusted for pathfinder. The themes are a solid mixture of mystery and good old fashioned fantasy adventure. There will be a base of operations and a lot of time will be spent in and around Arcanix where Lillian was tenured and the University of Wynarn in fairhaven where she was a professor at as well. She saw potential in you and intends to leave a thread of prophecy and adventure for you to unravel as she believed that adventure was the best way to help people meet become their greatest selves. Lillian Blazingale is a woman who cut a small figure in life as an elderly halfling professor of archaeology and technological anthropology, but leaves a massive shadow in her wake as she was a monolith within her field. She travelled all across Khorvaire and beyond to further lost knowledge of magic and technology from ages and societies of the past. At some point in your life you crossed her path whether she was lecturing in a city near you or running an archaeological expedition near you and for some reason she took a liking to you. As a lifelong teacher she was well known to nurture talents she saw and you likely displayed something that inspired her to help you along your way. You would’ve kept in contact over the years exchanging letters and stories up until this most recent missive would’ve alerted you to her passing and let you know that you’ve been named in her will. You’ve been invited to her wake where afterwards the will shall be read and it is at this wake where our story will begin. When considering your character think about what they did to garner Lillian’s interest and what kind of relationship they’d have outside of mentorship; was it warm and friendly? Was it almost competitive as you strove to impress her? As far as starting level I am thinking level two so we start with access to that free archetype that i'm making available to people for their concept. Extra’s on Pricing and pacing of sessions: Session 0 is $5 and the first actual session with me is $10 so I give people two chances for a discounted price to make sure they’ll enjoy my game. If after a session with me you leave a positive review your next session will be $10! I intend to run as close to the 4 hour mark as possible(if the group can go all the way to the end we will!) with maybe a small break in the middle to touch base and use the bathroom.

About me

Howdy ya’ll! I’m Peter and I got my start playing tabletops with DnD 3.5e at a friends birthday party when I was 13 and I’ve been hooked ever since. From there I started playing years of pathfinder 1e with my online gaming friends and transitioned into dming because I loved the storytelling opportunities. Tabletop roleplaying games have always been about community, fun, and expression for me so I do my best to cultivate it in any play space. I believe the most important and fun aspects of tabletop roleplaying come out in the collaboration of everyone involved to advance the story; and this can only happen when everyone feels safe, respected, and like they are an equal part of the story. My whole philosophy as a GM is centered around keeping the story collaborative and fun for everyone involved. Creating investment with my players is key: This always starts with a session 0 where we get everyone on the same page for expectations. Players who join campaigns later will at the least get a quick one on one session 0 to prep. As for details about myself I am a non-straight neurodivergent man doing my best to turn my biggest hobby and passion into a job so I can share the things I love about it with others. When I’m not furthering that goal I am devouring my favorite media which includes everything horror and fantasy on my couch with a lap full of my elderly kitties and my partner by my side.

Character creation

Creating your character

In session 0 we will go over it more in depth but I like to run pathfinder with the free Archetype ruling so people can have more fun concepts, gradual ability progression to make each level count more, and ancestral paragon to be able to really hone in on concepts around your characters ancestry. Pathbuilder 2e is such an incredible app that makes character creation/tracking so easy if you show me during session 0 that you paid for it I’ll discount your first actual session by its cost since it helps me with book keeping. Plus it can really help you map out builds and explore before we even get to session 0 and has settings to implement my extra rules automatically.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Discord and Roll20 so have an account for both. I also highly recommend getting the Pathbuilder 2e app paid version which I’ll discount a session of its cost if you do(play around with builds in the free version anyways).

What Pert brings to the table

I bring my years of experience as a gm to up the drama and bring characters to life. I use my eye for dynamics to adjust the setting to the power of the party and ensure you're all challenged and engaged. I intend to make sure I sprinkle a decent amount of homebrew additions in npcs and hazards to keep ya'll on your toes.

Homebrew rules

Outside of my character creation rules I don’t explicitly do much homebrewing. I do a few quality of life rulings around recall knowledge and lore checks. If you have any homebrew you might want to use run it by me and we can check it out together.

How Pert creates a safe table

I implement lines and veils, X and N cards, and make sure to take breaks and check in with my players during the session. I also try to be as thorough as possible during session 0 to make sure everyone is on the same page.
