About the adventure

A blend of D&D and tower defense games. You’ll build walls, traps, and automatic weapons. Then defend your creations from waves of attackers. Beneath the fiery mountain of Glaurimm lies Gauntlgrym: capital of the dwarven kingdom of Delzoun, and home of the greatest forge in the world. Its fires, called source, are piped all across the mountain, and can be used to create matter from nothing. The chief artificer, Grifus, sought to unlock the mystery behind source and use it to create life. The king foresaw the dangers of this desire and ordered Grifus to halt his work. Infuriated, Grifus refused, and was banished from the kingdom. He assumed the mantle of Lord Grief and created a clockwork army. A great war shall soon begin, pitting dwarf against clockwork. Meanwhile, the most renowned mercenaries in the kingdom, called the Seven Dwarves, have taken on a seemingly easy job. A request to hunt mountain lions by a quiet cliff-side village. An unlikely place to uncover the kingdom’s secret. This is where our story begins.

Meet the Game Master

About me

Hello! I am PremiumBow. I like video games, anime, web comics, and I really like dungeons and dragons. A friend invited me to my first game many years ago. We fought some gnolls in the woods, and it wasn’t long after that I took up the mantle of dungeon master. Since then I have guided players through a war for bacon, outrunning Ragnarok, making a fruit salad for a god, becoming Pokemon champions, freezing in Icewind Dale, and sailing the seas as pirates. If any of that sounds like fun to you, then you should join me for some dungeons and dragons!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is done one-on-one with the DM. It can be done all at once over a discord call, or at your own pace through private discord messages. Ability scores are generated by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest die. If you don't like the results, you can instead take the standard array: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8. Characters can start at either level 3, or level 2 with a feat and a magic item. Every character must be a dwarf and will be either a mercenary or a villager at the starting location. Only eight of the classes are allowed: Artificer, Barbarian, Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, and Wizard.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need to join my Discord server: https://discord.gg/un493sG5Sw Everything else you need will be provided through Discord.

What PremiumBow426 brings to the table

This is a combat focused campaign with an emphasis on defending objectives. (While there will be a story and roleplay, this campaign may not be a good fit for players that like to dive deeply into those aspects of the game.) Players that like fighting and strategizing will have the most fun.

Homebrew rules

Character options are limited to those that are fitting to the setting. These options are supplemented by several homebrew subclasses made by myself. Characters will have access to a list of defense structures based on their class. They'll be able to build defenses before every fight.

Safety

How PremiumBow426 creates a safe table

Players will be asked to fill out a RPG lines and veils survey before joining their first session. I'll use this during session preparation to filter out content that may potentially make players uncomfortable. In addition, you will always have my permission to send me a direct message if you ever have any questions or concerns. I also recommend taking a quick look at the content warnings and asking me about anything you want clarification on.
