About the adventure

The rhythmic creak of the wagon measures the slow passage of days on the High Road. The sun is bright, and the distant coastline glints with the white sails of merchant ships catching the eastern winds. It is a peaceful era, yet you find yourself drawn south by the request of an old friend, delivering supplies to Phandalin, a quiet, budding settlement living in the shadow of the Sword Mountains and the ruins of a forgotten age. "I hope to see you there, friend. It is not just a mine. Something ancient is buried deep in the rock, sleeping since the old days. I can feel it in my dwarven bones." ~ Gundrena Rockseeker But the quiet of the frontier is fragile. The eastern trails have grown perilous as goblins and bandits return to the roads. Shadowy faction agents quietly converge on the region, all seeking to claim the lost magic the Rockseeker siblings have disturbed. What began as a simple journey to help a friend slowly unravels into a quiet struggle to protect the fleeting peace of Phandalin from a sinister, ancient plot. A brave new frontier is calling. About me

Hi, my name is Vin. I run both online and offline tables. Locally, I host a one-shot table at a game store for various adventures set in the Forgotten Realms, and more recently Eberron. Online, I host long-term campaigns for friends, coworkers and strangers alike. I am used to creating long narratives with big emotional or storytelling payoff and on the spot improv based on the dice roll. If you want to know more about me! Read further down below. I’ve been running D&D 5e for almost three years, but my first taste of the game was over 20 years ago. One hot summer, I sat with friends in an abandoned swimming pool role-playing heroes and villains without really knowing the rules. It ended with a giant boulder trap wiping us out, and for some reason we never played again. Years later my wife reintroduced me to D&D, and I fell back in love with the imagination and collaboration it sparks. Somewhere along the way I picked up the DM’s chair, and I haven’t looked back. Outside of the game, I’m into horror movies, sci-fi, anime, and fantasy of all kinds. My wife and I are working through Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive, though my all-time favorite series will always be Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time. One more thing: This table is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone. I am a Filipino DM committed to diverse representation, and I explicitly welcome LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC, and neurodivergent players. Bigotry, racism, homophobia, and transphobia have no place at this table.

Character creation

Creating your character

Create characters in D&D Beyond: Sources: PHB 2024 (5.5e) ruleset + PaBTSO & other supplements like Forge of Artificer or Heroes of Faerun Level 1 start 1. Any Classes, Species, Backgrounds is allowed 3. Standard Array or Point Buy w/ Average HP 4. Normal equipment based on class/background 5. Choose a hook (optional) 6. Choose a faction (optional) I will help you every step of the way to make your character vision fit nicely in the world we build together.

The current party

A balanced team is always good but I do recommend: 1. A charismatic leader/face 2. A lore expert (arcana, history, religion) 3. Support like a healer (cleric, druid) 4. A player character who is connected to Gundrena Rockseeker

What to expect

Safety

How Vin creates a safe table

I run games with open storytelling, but there are clear boundaries: 1. Lines (these will not appear in the game): - Sexual content, sexual violence, or heavy sexual innuendo - Real-world racism, sexism, misogyny, or anti-LGBTQ+ 2. Veils (may exist, but never in detail): - Torture or extreme violence (cartoonish violence is fine) - Intense gore or body horror 3. Open Door Policy: - Players can step away from the game at any time, for any reason, without explanation. 4. We’ll also use X, N, and O cards so players can check in or stop the action if something feels uncomfortable. You can say it privately in chat, or openly. 5. Session 0 The goal is to keep the table safe, fun, and welcoming for everyone.
