About the adventure
In this deadly, roleplay-heavy game, you and your party are in the small farming town of Orlane, and must attempt to uncover the sinister goings-on in this town. This game is for all skill levels, including those who are brand new to Shadowdark RPG. We will roll up characters and pick classes together, but don't get too attached, because in Shadowdark, death is never far away.

About me
Hi! I’m Kylar, a story-focused DM who loves TTRPGs! My tables balance tactical combat, meaningful roleplay, and cooperative storytelling. I like to try to blend Rule of Cool with a solid Rules as Written structure. My top priority is simple: everyone has fun, feels included, and gets a chance to shine. I run adventures in my own expanding homebrew world, influenced by Earthsea, Legend of Drizzt, Critical Role, and Worlds Beyond Number. If you enjoy traditional fantasy with character driven arcs, moral dilemmas, and dynamic battles, you’ll feel right at home.

Creating your character
We will make characters together, as part of a free session zero. Stats will be decided by rolling 3d6, but you will be allowed to place them wherever they would like. Classes and backgrounds can be from any Shadowdark material that I own (Shadowdark RPG and Cursed Scrolls 4-6), but they can either be chosen or be decided via randomly rolling on tables.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have an account on Discord, where we will play via voice, and if needed, we will use Owlbear.Rodeo for our VTT.
What Kylar brings to the table
I am relatively new to DMing Shadowdark, but love the mildly horror, low-magic vibe of the game, and I really appreciate the randomness that this game has to offer. I love to have music that fits the vibe of the game, but most of the game is going to be run through theater of the mind, so a fair amount of "Rule of Cool" is to be expected. My one rule for all tables is to be respectful of everyone, both in and out of character.

How Kylar creates a safe table
We will have a Session 0, where we will discuss Lines and Veils, and X, N, and O cards will be handled digitally if a player has anything come up that they don't feel comfortable with.
