About the adventure
Welcome, Heroes… Beyond the crashing waves and mist-shrouded cliffs of the Sword Coast North, where jagged mountain ranges claw at the sky and ancient forests whisper of forgotten empires, opportunity — and danger — walk hand in hand. This is a land shaped by steel and spell. Proud cities and hardy frontier towns stand united beneath the banner of the Lords’ Alliance, sworn to defend Faerûn from the darkness that stirs beyond civilization’s fragile borders. But even here, in lands guarded by banners and blades, old powers awaken beneath the stone. And that’s where you come in. A dwarf prospector by the name of Gundren Rockseeker seeks 4–6 capable souls — mercenaries, sellswords, adventurers hungry for coin and glory. His task seems simple enough: escort a wagon of mining supplies from the bustling city of Neverwinter to the frontier town of Phandalin. Phandalin — a modest settlement rebuilt atop the ruins of a once-thriving mining town. A place where fortunes are made… and buried. Your cargo is bound for Barthen’s Provisions, where a merchant named Elmar Barthen promises payment of 10 gold pieces per adventurer upon safe delivery. Easy coin, perhaps. A simple job on a well-traveled road. But Gundren is in a hurry. Too much of a hurry. He speaks of opportunity. Of discovery. Of something big. The wagon is loaded. The road awaits. And every legend begins with what seems like a simple task. Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello, My name is Wes. I'm a professional Dungeon Master. Most people around the internet just call me "Chef" https://chefsdungeon.com/ <---Website link! (More Info) My website adventure links will bring you back here, this website is just for additonal information all in one place. You should check it out though as it's super helpful for deciding if my adventure is a right fit for you or not. So a little bit about me: I'm a professional dungeon master who has been with Startplaying for about two years now. I really enjoy long campaigns over one-shots and like seeing strangers become friends over an adventure at my table. Other than being a professional dungeon master, I'm also a chef. I've been cooking for 13 years now. I started out as a dishwasher and made it my goal to become really good at it. I am also a huge advocate for workline breed dogs. I give some of my income to rescues when i can. About GMing: I started playing Dungeons & Dragons to try something different after years of being an MTG player. I found ttrpgs to be more fun than video games. Spending a lot of time creating characters and joining campaigns was something i looked forward to. Then someone gave me a chance to DM and the rest is history. The same group also showed me Startplaying and well, here i am. GMing for almost 2 years now and loving every second of it.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a character idea in mind before session 0. Make sure you understand the basics of D&D. I'm always here to help new players but having some info from reading through SRD & PHB will help things make sense faster. D&D is a bit of a heavy rule game. Within the discord server, there is a better breakdown of prep for session 0 and staff who help me get new players up to speed. Just please make sure you read the rules doc & build guide doc because both should have a clear understanding of what chef's rules are.
What Chef brings to the table
I bring a fun environment, entertaining RP, and combat that will keep you on your toes. I push to make sure all my players are having a great time during their sessions at my table. I'm always looking to challenge my players and help push their backgrounds into the campaigns so that they feel more involved in the world they're playing in.
Homebrew rules
No homebrew races, classes, backgrounds, etc. We allow some 3rd party content. Please ask first, though.

How Chef creates a safe table
I have rules in place to make sure no player feels uncomfortable. Stuff like an X card. There are table rules and an agreement that also aids player safety in my games.
