About the adventure
Set in the Forgotten Realms, our adventure takes place in the City of Splendor and the Jewel of the Sword's Coast: the city of Waterdeep. Here in this bustling city lies the infamous Whispering Yawn, an inn and tavern known to locals and adventurers alike. Rumor has it that the famous Volothamp Geddarm is looking for a group of able bodies to pull off the greatest heist the Jewel has ever seen...and who knows what else they'll find underneath the fabled Undermountain. This campaign will combine the Dragon Heist and Dungeon of the Mad Mage campaigns, taking player characters from levels 1 to 20. Explore the bustling city of Waterdeep, seeking gold and daring adventure while caught between competitors, traps, and other dangers. Perhaps the bards will tell your story when the adventure is done!

About me
Hello there Traveller! My name is Jeremiah, a Game Master with 10+ years experience telling tales of gallant heroism, fantastical worlds, daring adventures, and of battle forged fellowship. I specialize in immersive long-form campaigns that blend emotional role play, living worlds, character agency with meaningful consequences, and cinematic boss encounters. I strive to incorporate tactical combat with unique boss mechanics and give space and freedom for vulnerable role play. I am an avid Critical Role fan and the story telling there was fundamental in my early experiences in TTRPG; however, I pull inspiration from a variety of sources including Lord of the Rings, the Sword of Truth series, and other story tellers. I also seek inspiration from True Crime, Mystery novels, music, historical accounts, folklore, and legends. Stories have been told for millennia for a variety of reasons and are filled with purpose. Pulling inspiration from these helps compel action and narrative and pulls players into a world they breathe life into. In my stories you will find magic and wonder, adventure and thrilling combat, intrigue and moral dilemmas, and decisions that will shape the world we play in. If that sounds like you, I hope to see you at the table!

Creating your character
Before Session 0, players will have a 1 on 1 with the DM to talk about character concepts and back story so that we can build a campaign foundation together. All characters will start at Level 1 and should adhere to the following parameters: Abilities can be either the Standard Array or Point Buy Players may choose the starting equipment for their class and background or the full amount of GP to buy their own. Players may use the following sources for their character creation: Players Handbook (2024), Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn, Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, and Astarion's Book of Hungers. Join now to shape your own legend in this high-fantasy adventure!
Please note that this campaign will not start until August 1st at the earliest.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once you have joined the campaign, I will send out links to a Discord server where all future updates will appear as well as a link to the game on Roll20 and D&DBeyond. If you do not already, please make sure you have an account on each of these sites (they are absolutely free for you; I will have all of the content).
What Jeremiah brings to the table
I will provide all of the content necessary for the campaign and character creation. The table will feature VTT maps as well as immersive music during play. I generally stick to Rules as Written but will make exceptions for exceptional role play and narrative. I am heavy on both role play and tactical combat but always take time to help teach the system as needed. I may use character voices throughout our sessions but do not feel the need to do so; whatever makes you comfortable is more than acceptable.
Homebrew rules
Health Potions: you may take these as a Bonus Action and roll for the amount healed OR use your full action and take the maximum points possible. Critical Hits: Roll double the amount of dice and then add the modifier. Help Action: You may give another character advantage on a skill roll only if you are also proficient in that skill. Death saving throws are private and to only be shared with the DM, not the table. This helps build high stakes moments and drives character motivations.

How Jeremiah creates a safe table
There will be a survey for Lines and Veils sent out before our Session 0 to identify any hard limits (deal breakers) and soft limits (may need to step away, take a break, or fade to black) for content present. These are confidential and will only be shared with the DM. I've identified several things that may occur throughout the module but may not necessarily appear in gameplay; however, I want to be upfront with anything that may cause discomfort and will eliminate anything that will cause unease at the table. We will have built in breaks for our sessions and a mandatory Session 0 before any gameplay to cover ground rules, DM assigned limits based on feedback, house rules, and any other pertinent information before we begin gameplay. In addition, players have the option to message me directly in real time an X, N, or O card to address any rising concerns during play.
