About me

Hello there, i am a bilingual DM from Russia, now living my best life in Vietnam. I have always had a passion for RPG games. PC was my sanctuary for a long long time. And then i have discovered D&D. Started DMing, gathered friends, and that hobby has changed my life. Now i have got experience of almost 2 years DMing, offline and online, bilingual. I have personally brought about 15-20 newbies to the hobby. My highest achievement - gathered a full-english session with a party of 5 Russian girls and a lad by the name of Kevin from Florida, great time. The most important thing for me as a DM is Harmony for everyone playing the session

Character creation

Creating your character

First thing - I have ready-to-go characters if you need, no worries. Characters level may vary. Everything you need to create a character - i will help and guide you through. I'll be available on Discord prior to the session. We will be using the 2014+2024 D&D mixed ruleset as our system. You may roll for stats using the methods provided, choose point buy or the standard array. Surely, there is no problem with official books. Other content may be approved on case-by-case basis. And remember - your character becomes alive since your first session, so get ready for a unique story which awaits on the path of your journey. Get creative!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a working microphone, stable internet connection and head full of ideas. My favorite kind of player is a happy player. That is why the supply of water and a cup of your favorite tea and comfy place to play would be good preparation. Playing with camera on would be appreciated, but is not obligatory.

What Daniel brings to the table

Expect a dark, living world where every expedition feels like its own gothic tale. This is a West Marches game set in Ravenloft: dangerous, atmospheric, and shaped by the choices of those who dare to explore it. Sessions balance exploration, tense storytelling, and meaningful combat, with each journey uncovering new secrets, threats, and opportunities. You can expect immersive narration, distinct NPC personalities, and passionate role-play. The world is filled with memorable characters, unsettling encounters, and locations that feel alive with history and consequence. Music, ambient sound, and visual presentation are used to deepen atmosphere and keep the tone sharp, whether the moment calls for dread, mystery, or sudden violence. Combat is dynamic, tactical, and built to feel like part of the story rather than a pause in it. Encounters reward creativity, awareness, and interaction with the environment as much as raw numbers. Beyond survival and treasure, there is room for personal arcs, private scenes, and character-focused moments that let your choices shape both your story and the world around you. Foundry VTT with: - maps and tokens (miniature and round image styles) - character sheets with pre-generated characters - thematic music - technical solutions for dynamic combat I always play with my camera on so you can catch emotions and facial expressions of every creature living in my worlds.

Homebrew rules

About sticking to the rulebooks… I am a huge fan of my players’ characters and I like following their awesome and creative ways of dealing with the monstrosity of my worlds. As much as I love letting them shine and have their epic moments, I also admire bringing to them hard consequences of living in this particular universe full of cruel and horrible things. During the game, you assign me for a role of moderator, so i expect a certain trust. However, if something feels off, - we can adjust stuff after the game with voting, so players can shape the style of the game to their liking! You can expect a lot of eagerness to invent stuff from me, and i appreciate the same from players! 1. Main thing is - i prefer common sense and shared pleasure, so if your request is believable and fun - we can definitely try to support that mechanically! 2. Your weapon is a tool of war. Remember how you can use tools? Correct - with creativity =) 3. Potions as bonus action and full effect as action 4. Death saves are private for you and DM - let them wonder if they have a lot of time or not... I have a lot of suggestions, but main thing i ask is trust. I am a fan of you and your character, so each and every ruling i make will support fun and have a reason behind it.

Safety

How Daniel creates a safe table

We will cover a lot of things before our game. Things we like, things we don't. Things we are alright to see and talk about - and things we are not. Player comfort and trust are a core part of how I run games. My goal is to create a table where players feel safe to engage deeply with the story, take risks in character, and trust that tension in the game never becomes discomfort outside of it. Before play, all players receive a short safety and expectations form covering Lines, Veils, tone, themes, and personal boundaries. We go over this together during Session 0, along with table expectations, communication style, character tone, and the kind of story each player wants to explore. This helps establish both group comfort and narrative alignment before the game begins. During play, I use a simple digital check-in system. Players can message me privately at any time if something needs to pause, shift, or be reframed. I also actively watch player tone, pacing, and engagement, and will pause to clarify or redirect if needed. My approach is facilitative rather than forceful: I do not push players through discomfort for the sake of drama. After heavier scenes, tense conflict, or emotionally charged moments, I do short aftercare check-ins with the table to make sure everyone is comfortable, clear, and still enjoying the direction of the game. Player conflict is handled calmly and constructively, with space to pause, clarify intent, and resolve tension without blame. The goal is always the same: strong immersion, clear communication, and a table where everyone can engage with confidence.
