About the adventure

Humanity has fallen in the aftermath of the Black Rain. The beasts, unleashed from undernearh the flesh of Earth's dominant species have scoured the planet's surface, exterminating most of us. Those who remained cling to hope for a better tomorrow, toiling to guarantee survival for their children. It has been half a century since the end came. Scattered groups of survivors used that time to band together, starting the arduous process of reforging our civilization. Hives of blooming flesh and bone occupy the cities of old. Pockets of resistance form around the monolythic black crystals, which heralded our fall. Humanity strives to reclaim the glory of days long past. You are no longer among these people. Having been killed, be it by fellow survivors, or beasts patrolling the streets of once great cities, you rose as one of them. The Brood. Yet even as your bodies twisted, adapting and improving to become more predatory, something in you fought on. There are some who would call it a soul, others know it as the subconciousness. Whatever the semantics, you persisted, piloting your twisted husk of a body to a beacon of light, far on the horizon. After an uncertain amount of time you have reached the source of the light, the black crystal. One of many, which dot the surface of the earth. It tested you, putting your psyche through a myriad of trials. Many have failed this step, many have given in to the desperation, but not you. You pushed on, through the trials of the crystal, until you succeeded. It was your new beginning, through the mercy of the crystal you were reborn. Still tainted by the Brood, but now fully in control. You bacame a Nemissary, a monstrous apostle of the new golden age. [Hi! My name is Gizen, (or Gerard, whichever you prefer) and I would like to invite you to the first on this site SINS campaign! Since it is a niche system, let me explain to you what is it all about! This is a post apocalyptic world, in which the humanity succumbed to a highly mutagenic virus (it's complicated) which turned the dead into monsters. Think less zombies, and more Necromorphs. The general tech level is post modern, as the Black Rain (a rain of black crystals, heralding the fall) happened in the year 2049. General mood of the setting is gloomy, yes but hopeful at the same time. The humanity is starting to rebuild, the Brood (infected) have ceased their constant push, after their hive mind has been fragmented, and some infected come back as Nemissaries. This is what you will be playing. Nemissary is a human infected by the Brood, who through their creativity and willpower fights off the hivemind, and retains their humanity. Basically you will be playing body horror demigods in a post apocalyptic world.
