About the adventure

Alice Is Missing is a quiet, emotional mystery about a missing girl and the people who knew her best. The game takes place in the small town of Silent Falls, where something has happened to Alice Briarwood and the only clues lie with her friends. Over the course of a single session, players uncover secrets, relationships, and hidden truths while trying to figure out what really happened. The entire game is played through text messages instead of spoken conversation. As the story unfolds, players message each other in character, reacting in real time as new clues appear and tensions rise. Because everything happens through text, even shy players often find it easy to jump in and express their character’s thoughts, fears, and suspicions. This one shot is welcoming to both brand new and experienced roleplayers. If you have never played a tabletop RPG before, the rules are simple and I will guide everyone through the setup and pacing so you can focus on the story. If you are a veteran player, the game offers a lot of room for deep character moments and dramatic reveals. My goal as your facilitator is to create a safe, collaborative space where everyone can help build the mystery together. Expect a story that feels like a mix of a small town drama and a slow burn thriller, where every message could reveal something important and every character may be hiding something.

About me

My name is Kodiak, and I’ve been playing and running tabletop RPGs for over a decade. One of my favorite games to run is Alice Is Missing, and I really enjoy introducing new players to the experience. I run my games with a strong focus on player comfort and safety. Because Alice Is Missing deals with difficult themes, I take time to make sure everyone feels comfortable with each other and with the material before we begin. My goal is to create a space where players can fully immerse themselves in the story while still feeling supported at the table. It’s one of the most powerful storytelling experiences in tabletop gaming, and I’d love to share that experience with you.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account and will need to make an account on the Alice is Missing digital platform, which can be done at the beginning of the game session.

What Kodiak brings to the table

I will be providing the digital platform to play the game as well as acting as the facilitator for gameplay. You can expect this to be an incredibly immersive and emotional game but I strive hard to supply a supportive and considerate environment to my players.

How Kodiak creates a safe table

This game has a built in list of Lines and Veils that we will go over before gameplay. This can be added to before we play, and I encourage all players to feel free to reach out to me privately at any point to indicate they are uncomfortable with the direction gameplay is going. The format of the game also includes a period of time after active gameplay for us to tie up any loose ends and to check in on everyone's emotional states.
