About the adventure
The world of Stålseiðr has already fought back from its own demise once before and has reached a period of modest peace. Six of the seven continents have reached an accord, operating with one another to promote growth. Set between Eldahn — a continent upon which bountiful and diverse varieties of magic flourish — and its sister continent Ilkahn — a land whereupon technology and man's ingenuity are paramount — Garagos is a melting pot of those concepts and virtues which surround it. Known as the birthplace of artifice, a wide array of applications of both magic and martial combat styles have blended and created wonders herein. Several weeks ago, you received a letter of admissions to the prestigious Garagos Academy of Magic and Engineering, with some anonymous donor covering your entire tuition. With no clue of this benefactor's identity, your only recourse is to attend the welcome banquet with the hope that your generous patron attends as well. But what will you wear? ———————————————————————————————— Campaign starts at level 3, homebrew setting, mostly homebrew content. 2014 5e rules (with 2024 content allowed) with a few variant rules, and several homebrew mechanics voted on at the start of the game. Free session zero, there will be free text RP in Discord threads. Every 10th session for each player is half price! Any experience levels allowed, new players will find tons of patience and help here! Played on Foundry with Discord for voice chat. No account on Foundry required, I can make a log in for each player on my self-hosted server!

About me
I'm Lavan, I'm 32 years old and I love to tell stories! My favorite moments during a game are the ones that are cathartic and thrilling for everyone! I love all things Final Fantasy, Paramore and horror, and have been playing D&D for roughly 4 years! I've been a DM for a little over 2 years now, and have been coordinating three full-length campaigns for about a year and a half (still going)! I'm involved in the furry and LGBTQ+ communities! I'm the author and creator of an ongoing furry visual novel called Wayfinder: A Modern Tale of Furry as well as a short, finished one called After Passion. I have a cat named Grizzly and a rabbit named Smokey!

Creating your character
Level 3 to start, standard array! I will work with each player to build their character sheet in Foundry, any races and classes from official sources are allowed! Players will have a range of starting currency depending on background, and will not need to worry about starting items, weapons or armor! The world is entirely homebrew, and I enjoy and encourage player manifestation when it comes to backstory, but don't feel the need for anything too dense!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Join the Discord server where I host games after you're sent the invite, and wait for me to issue the StartPlaying role. After that, I'll coordinate with you to get you a login for my Foundry server.
What Lavan brings to the table
I have several voices for characters and use descriptive emoting for them. The VTT we are using allows for both ambient sounds and music, with a player-adjustable volume slider for each channel. I believe the rules are a guide and tend to be more lenient! I offer a number of variant rules which will be described in the "Homebrew Rules" section.
Homebrew rules
We vote on rules in the session zero: 1.) Bonus action potions; action to apply to another player unless you are using a potion injector projector. 2.) Bonus action Lay on Hands. 3.) Versatile actions system: you may forego your action to perform any bonus action instead; you may also forego your movement to perform an additional bonus action. 4.) Stacked Inspiration: Each player has a maximum number of inspiration points equal to their proficiency bonus. Players may use their inspiration to grant advantage to themselves before or after a roll OR allow another player to reroll on a critical failure. 5.) Risky Inspiration: If Inspiration is used and the second roll is lower, a worse outcome occurs. However, DM may offer (and Player may agree) to make a roll at disadvantage to restore an inspiration. 6.) Flexible Skill Proficiencies: You may use an alternative ability score for skill proficiencies (ex. Strength for Intimidation, Constitution for Survival, Charisma for Arcana, etc.) so long as there is a decent enough reason for it. 9.) Direct Hit: If the attack roll directly equals the AC of an enemy after modifiers, a d20 is rolled. If a 17 or higher is rolled, the attack's damage is rolled again. 10.) Critical Direct Hit: If, as above, the Direct Hit roll lands on a 20, the extra damage rolled is critical.

How Lavan creates a safe table
Players may message me their Lines and Veils in advance to compile a list and I will read them aloud during the session zero, as well as make it available to reference to all players (to preserve anonymity). If at any point player wants to upgrade a Veil to a Line, they may message me and I will do so as well. There will be a break during play for about 10 minutes roughly halfway through. At the end of the session, we can discuss the session and share Stars and Wishes!
