About the adventure
This is a custom campaign built by combining three published adventures into one continuous story that carries the party from the opening prelude all the way to the final confrontation with Vecna. The campaign begins with Vecna: Nest of the Eldritch Eye, moves into Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk as the long midgame arc, and then transitions into Vecna: Eve of Ruin for the endgame. As someone who has loved playing these modules individually, I could not help but feel that, when combined, they would make for an epic mega campaign, so I worked to find a strong way to integrate them into one larger narrative. What starts as a routine patrol in Neverwinter quickly becomes something darker. Strange killings, stolen secrets, and a hidden cult pull the characters into events that reveal a much larger threat. From there, the story expands into the growing horror around Phandalin, where buried powers, strange corruption, and eldritch danger deepen the mystery and strengthen the party before the final escalation. Once the characters reach higher levels, the campaign shifts into Vecna: Eve of Ruin, where the story pays off in a full scale struggle against one of D&D’s most iconic villains. The tone is dark fantasy with elements of cosmic horror, hidden knowledge, ancient evil, and escalating danger, but it is also a heroic long-form campaign built around party bonds, character growth, and meaningful choices. Expect cults, relics, dungeon crawls, strange magic, investigation, and moments where the party’s decisions shape how the story unfolds. This campaign starts at level 3 and is intended to carry the group all the way to level 20, so it is designed for players who want a long term story with a clear arc from beginning to end. My style leans toward roleplay, atmosphere, and story driven play, with combat used to reinforce the narrative rather than dominate it. This game is best for players who enjoy ongoing plots, cooperative storytelling, mystery, dark fantasy themes, and watching their characters grow from capable adventurers into legendary heroes.

About me
I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for decades, starting with Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition, and I still love the same thing that drew me in from the beginning: the chance to step into a great story with other people and create something unforgettable together. Over the years, I’ve played through multiple editions, different styles of campaigns, and all the chaos and magic that come with long-term gaming. I eventually stepped into the GM role so someone else could finally have a chance to be a player, but once I got behind the screen, I realized I had found something I genuinely loved. Running great games is not just something I do, it is something I care deeply about. As a Game Master, I focus on creating sessions that feel immersive, well-paced, and personal to the people at the table. I want players to feel like their choices matter, their characters belong in the world, and every session moves the story forward in a meaningful way. I believe the best campaigns balance structure with freedom, strong storytelling with player agency, and preparation with room for those unexpected moments that make tabletop gaming special. When you join one of my games, you can expect a table that is welcoming, intentional, and built for memorable play. I take preparation seriously, I respect my players’ time, and I work to make every session feel like it was worth showing up for. Whether you’re here for rich roleplay, hard choices, tense combat, character growth, or simply the thrill of being part of a living story, my goal is to give you a game that feels engaging from the first scene to the last. If you’re looking for a GM who cares about the experience, knows how to keep the story moving, and wants every player to feel like they matter, I’d be glad to welcome you to my table.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will take place during Session 0, with all characters finalized before Session 1. The campaign begins at level 3 in Neverwinter, and each character should have a reason to be there and a reason to work with the party. Since this is a long form campaign that will run from level 3 to 20, I am looking for characters with room to grow, strong story hooks, and ties to the setting or group. For stats, we will use point buy. Official published D&D 5e material is allowed. Homebrew and Unearthed Arcana may be considered, but only with approval first. I want characters that fit the tone of the campaign and work well as part of a party. For equipment, choose either your class starting gear or the starting cash option, whichever better fits your build. If you take a custom background, add an extra 50 GP in the currency section. Any shopping should be completed before play begins, and players should manually adjust coin totals as they add or remove items. If both Legacy and non Legacy versions of an item exist, use the non Legacy version. Because the campaign begins at level 3, characters also receive the level 3 starting package: an additional 100 GP and 1 common magic item. Characters start with their normal class equipment, plus these level based bonuses. Magic items should be chosen from official published material and are subject to approval to keep things balanced and appropriate for the game. This is a story driven campaign with a strong focus on roleplay, party cohesion, and character growth, so players should come to Session 0 with at least a rough concept and be ready to connect that character to the world, the party, and the campaign’s themes.
This is a long form weekly campaign currently recruiting for a fresh start. We will begin with Session 0 for character creation, onboarding, safety tools, and party setup before moving into play. New players are welcome, but this game is aimed at players who enjoy roleplay, mystery, dark fantasy, and long-term story investment.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before Session 0, please complete the following: Create a free Discord account and join the game server using the link provided after signup. Create a free D&D Beyond account as well; a campaign link with shared content will be provided once you join. You will also need a working microphone, a stable internet connection, and a computer or laptop capable of running Foundry VTT in a web browser. A headset is recommended for clearer audio and less background noise. No character creation is required beforehand. That will be handled together during Session 0, along with setup and onboarding. Setup is straightforward, and I will help make sure everyone is ready before play begins.
What Bauric brings to the table
I provide a structured, immersive campaign built around strong pacing, consistent rulings, and meaningful player choice. Expect cinematic atmosphere supported by ambient music, tonal scene setting, and selective character voice work. Sessions are designed to move with purpose, with a clear sense of progression and a balance between roleplay, exploration, and combat. The world is reactive, and player decisions have lasting consequences as the story moves from Neverwinter to Phandalin and eventually into the larger conflict surrounding Vecna. My GMing style is roleplay forward, but not slow or unfocused. Combat is meaningful and efficient, with stakes that fit the tone of the campaign. I generally run rules consistently and close to Rules as Written, while allowing flexibility when it improves flow, immersion, or the table’s overall experience. The goal is a campaign that feels cohesive, atmospheric, and responsive, where player choices matter, the setting feels alive, and each session meaningfully advances the story. If you want a campaign with mystery, tension, consequence, and a world that responds seriously to your choices, this table is built for that.
Homebrew rules
My homebrew rules are intentionally light. For a long form campaign, I prefer consistency over novelty, so most of the game will run close to Rules as Written. Drinking a potion yourself is a bonus action, while giving one to another creature is still an action. Advancement is handled through milestone leveling rather than XP. I also allow a limited early campaign respec window so players can adjust character choices if a build is not working as expected after Session 0 and the first few sessions. I am generally open to minor retcons for honest mistakes if they are caught quickly and do not undo major consequences. I also allow Rule of Cool rulings when they are impactful, meaningful, and make the moment better for the campaign or the party, but not in a way that undermines balance, tone, or consistency. Beyond that, I aim for fair, consistent rulings that keep the game moving while protecting the stakes, pacing, and atmosphere of the campaign.

Safety
How Bauric creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort matter at my table, especially in a campaign with horror themes, cults, and dark fantasy elements. Before the game starts, I will send out a Lines and Veils document and go over boundaries, tone, expectations, and table norms during Session 0. During play, X, N, and O check ins can be used verbally, in Foundry chat, or by private Discord message. I also use an Open Door policy, meaning players can step away at any time without pressure, and regular breaks will be built into sessions. If something needs to stop, shift, or fade to black, I will adjust immediately. I also leave space for brief debriefing at the end of sessions, especially after heavier moments. My goal is a table that feels respectful, communicative, and safe for everyone involved.
