About me
Hi, I’m Zach! I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for over 15 years and GMing for friends for about 8. While I’ve played systems like Pathfinder and Numenera, D&D 5e is where most of my GM experience lives and the system I run with the most confidence. I love creating immersive, character-driven games that balance fun, collaboration, and memorable storytelling. My favorite spaces to run are heroic fantasy, horror, mystery, survival, dark fantasy, and dark academia. I enjoy welcoming total beginners just as much as I enjoy surprising veteran players with unexpected twists, challenging combat, layered puzzles, and fresh takes on beloved adventures. I’m known for adapting quickly, thinking on my feet, and shaping the story around the people at the table. My style blends preparation with in-the-moment creativity, so games feel both polished and alive. I use Discord, D&D Beyond, D&D Beyond Maps, and Owlbear Rodeo, and I enjoy enhancing sessions with music, maps, custom handouts, homebrew content, and plug-and-play module support. I care deeply about building a respectful, human-first table. Lines and veils will always be discussed in Session 0. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence, and other forms of bigotry are not welcome in my games. As an LGBTQ+ person, I want every player to feel safe, respected, and excited to be part of the adventure.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will happen during Session 0 so the group can build together, ask questions, and start with a strong shared foundation. Characters will begin at level 3, allowing everyone to step into their class identity early while still leaving plenty of room for progression. For stats, we’ll roll two full arrays on D&D Beyond and each player can choose which of those two sets they want to use. D&D Beyond will also be used to host character sheets and campaign materials, helping keep everything organized and easy to access. Session 0 is also where we’ll align on character concepts, party roles, tone, backstory ties, and campaign expectations. I want players to have creative freedom, but I also want the party to feel cohesive and grounded in the adventure we’re about to tell together. Any campaign-specific restrictions or sourcebook guidelines will be communicated clearly before or during that session.
What to expect
Preparing for the session

What Zach (Zaqary Binx) brings to the table
I provide players with an immersive, collaborative, and well-supported game experience built around memorable storytelling, meaningful choices, and a strong sense of adventure. Players can expect rich narration, ambient music, maps, custom handouts, homebrew additions when appropriate, and organized digital tools through Discord, D&D Beyond, D&D Beyond Maps, and Owlbear Rodeo. I want the world to feel alive and the table to feel welcoming, whether you are brand new to tabletop RPGs or a longtime player. My GM style is character-driven and adaptable. I come prepared, but I also respond to player choices in the moment so the story feels dynamic rather than rigid. I enjoy giving players real agency, surprising them with twists, and creating moments that feel personal to the party. I may not be a full voice actor, but I do my best to create immersion through tone, description, pacing, and atmosphere. In combat, players can expect encounters that are engaging, challenging, and rewarding. I enjoy tactical and high-stakes situations, but I always want them to feel fair and exciting rather than punishing for the sake of punishment. Outside of combat, I love roleplay, mystery, exploration, puzzles, and the kinds of choices that let characters shine in different ways. When it comes to rules, I value consistency and fairness, but I also believe the rules are there to support a fun and memorable experience. I generally run with respect for the rules as written, while leaving room for common-sense rulings and Rule of Cool moments when they genuinely enhance the game. My goal is to balance structure with creativity so players feel both supported and inspired. Above all, I provide a respectful, inclusive table where collaboration matters. I want players to feel safe, heard, and excited to come back each session.

Safety
How Zach (Zaqary Binx) creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are essential at my table, not an afterthought. Before the campaign begins, Session 0 will be used to go over expectations, tone, boundaries, table etiquette, character fit, and the kind of game we want to create together. This is also where we will establish Lines and Veils so everyone has a clear understanding of what subjects are off-limits and what content should remain implied or off-screen. I encourage open communication from the start. If a player is uncomfortable during a session, they are always welcome to message me directly or let me know in the way that feels safest and easiest for them. If something needs to change, I am fully comfortable pausing the game, checking in, redirecting a scene, or fading to black. Protecting player trust is more important than forcing a moment to continue. After sessions, I welcome honest feedback and check-ins so players can raise concerns privately if needed. I want my table to feel collaborative, respectful, and human-first.
