About the adventure
Interested in Lancer? Not sure where to start? Afraid to join a group without having some experience first? I've got what you need! This one shot will be composed of a single session that will go over the core mechanics of LANCER, walk you through mech and character creation in COMP/CON and Foundry, and discuss possible builds to see which one truly interests you. There will also be some sample combat to test out everything you've previously learned. I will prepare a sample mech for you through RetroGrade Minis so you can have your own personalized token for the sample combat, and you'll also be able to take it with you for any future campaigns you might play!

About me
Going more than a decade strong in the hobby. Started with nothing more than a group of friends with a second-hand 3.5 player handbook and now I've got at least a dozen campaigns under my belt in all sorts of systems, from 5e to Dark Heresy and Delta Green. What I aim to bring is... - 1️⃣ A table where people can speak to one another casually and easily. Good vibes, good jokes, good times. - 2️⃣ Helping players spread their wings with their roleplay chops. I want to know your character's backstory, the people they care about and those they loathe in equal measure. Weaving together everything the players bring to the table is, I've found, the best way to create memorable moments. - 3️⃣ Challenging combat with stakes. I'll fully admit that I usually start off with kiddy gloves to measure how capable my players are, but once I know your limits I'll be having you ride the fine line between living and dying. If my rolls actually work out, that is... - 4️⃣ A space where you can come to me behind the scenes without worry. If something comes up that puts a damp in your enjoyment, your schedule is suddenly hellish, or practically anything else? If it's within my power to change then let's see what we can do!

Creating your character
Pre-made character sheets will be provided for you to choose from for the combat encounter. In case there's a more specific build you'd like to try please contact me beforehand so we can go over it!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A Discord account will be necessary to deal with audio, and a Sqyre account as they are the hosting service for the game server. All of it is free! Webcam will not be necessary, but microphone is a must. Players will be provided with all the materials necessary to learn the rules and system. It's not necessary to read everything, but at least a rough understanding of the system is encouraged.
