About the adventure
This month you’ll be hired to hunt down a band of thief’s who recently robed a Noble coach stealing Shavil Riversong’s diamond necklace. The royal guard pursued them to the entrance of Leon Cave. They’re now looking to hire some brave adventurers to journey into this dangerous and haunted cave system to return the Riversong jewelry. In addition to the reward the noble family will provide, your welcome to any other treasure you can acquire in the caves. But tread carefully those bandits are far from the most dangerous things in there! Leon Cave is known as a very dangerous labyrinth tunnels. Impossible to map as caverns constantly shift and reform themselves. Rumors say it’s haunted by an evil wizard who is responsible for manipulating the caverns for his own amusement or some Nefarious purpose no one can explain. Using this location each month will feature new maps with different monsters to kill (or avoid) While you hunt down bandits, thieves or some other kind of vagrant seeking avoid justice by hiding in the Caves. Don’t worry if you never played Shadowdark before Because it’s an easy system to learn. If you've played ANY version of D&D you’ll basically already know how to play. It’s a nice blend of modern mechanics with an old school d&d feel to it. Designed by Kelsey Dionne, Shadowdark was published in 2023 after a successful kickstarter and has won many awards since. Come explore the Shadows in some of my original reoccurring one shots. I've been a game master since the early 80's (mostly DnD but I'm actually relatively new to the Shadowdark RPG. I look forward to running this game for you. It honestly reminds me of the type of game we were playing back in the 80s

About me
Hello future players! I’m Shawn. Thank you for the interest in one of my games. The game and community have never been more accessible, fun, and easy to learn for new players, while remaining fun for long time players like myself. Although some recent decisions made by Hasbro might have unfortunately separated the experienced players a little. D&D is not dying, I'm still running a game with the 2014 version of 5e, but I’ve expanded my portfolio a bit. There's A lot of other good games out there. I’m currently looking to run Shadowdark and Call of Cthulu. I look forward to running a game for you. As an artist I use a lot of visual handouts and references to enhance my games. Preferably my own, but I honestly make an effort to avoid AI when searching for reference images or tokens to use. I pride myself on making my own maps to provide original and unique locations accurately depicting what is happening in your game. I love Incarnate, with this program people create beautiful detailed maps. It’s very important to me that maps are still easy to read and understand. Mine will be.

Creating your character
I currently have 8 pre generated 3rd level characters available to choose from for this one shot adventure. If you’d prefer to build your own that you could continue to use month after month (in future one shots) you'll need.... * Please show up a half hour early so character is finished in time to start at set time * We'll build the character IN my Roll20 game I'll be available to help you, but a basic understanding of how to build a character in Shadowdark would also be helpful. * A digital copy of the core Shadowdark rules (or at least the free quick start guide) which are both available threw the arcane library * Artwork which you can upload (or send to me) to use for your token * I DO offer some extra options during character creation. We can go over them when your building your character
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You’ll need a working microphone, free discord and Roll20 accounts. A working camera is awesome, but certainly not required. Most importantly just show up ready to play and have fun!

How Shawn (old school) creates a safe table
We'll talk about safety more as needed threw discord before the game starts. I avoid real world politics, religion, racial and sexual orientations. Basically, I treat everyone with respect and expect everyone in my games to do the same. This one shot has a fairly short time frame but we'll take breaks as needed please feel free to communicate with me and the group.
