About the adventure

Welcome to Curse of Strahd: The Golden Girls in Barovia—a humorous and cozy-horror spin on the classic 5e adventure, where the heroes are fierce, fabulous, and a little bit frail. This is a full campaign of Curse of Strahd where every player takes on the role of a grandmother, crone, or silver-haired menace with a lifetime of experience, sharp wit, and a side of sass. Maybe she’s a former war mage with arthritis. Maybe she’s a retired assassin whose grandkids still don’t know the truth. Maybe she just really, really hates vampires. We'll start all our players off in The Silver Dragon Shores Retirement Community in Boca Raton, FL. Barovia is still grim, creepy, and cursed—but you’ll be bringing a warm teapot and a sharpened knitting needle to the party. What You Can Expect: - A faithful but lightly comedic take on Curse of Strahd - Character-driven horror with moments of levity - Dramatic moments balanced by quirky grandmother shenanigans - Gothic vibes, family drama, and lots of garlic - Original homebrew “Magical Granny Items” for each player - Safety-first storytelling and collaborative worldbuilding - A DM who blends theater-of-the-mind with mood music and voices Beginners are absolutely welcome! I love teaching new players! If you’ve ever wanted to tell a vampire ‘Bless your heart’ and mean it as an insult… this game is for you.

About me

🎲 Hi! I’m Laura. I'm a lifelong storyteller and DM who loves bold narration, fun character voices, and a little theatrical flair with sound and lighting. I’ve been telling stories for over 30 years, and I run games that are designed to be engaging, welcoming, and memorable. I care about good pacing, shared spotlight, and making sure the table feels welcoming and easy to settle into. I’ve had the privilege of learning from and playing alongside some truly exceptional Dungeon Masters in the industry, including B. Dave Walters (Stranger Things), Jason Carl (LA by Night), Monte Cook (D&D 3.5), Beth the Bard (She Is the Ancient), Kelly Lynne D’Angelo (Rivals of Waterdeep), and others. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to learn from so many different styles, systems, and approaches to storytelling. I run both crunchy and story-forward games, depending on what you’re looking for. I’m also known for putting playful twists on familiar worlds—think the Golden Girls in Barovia, a toy on a heroic quest, or other “wait, that actually works?” adventures. The goal is simple: great stories, real laughs, and sessions people can’t stop talking about. My tables are 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 inclusive and if you're new to RPGs, fear not! I absolutely love welcoming new people into our hobby. I offer D&D weekend getaways and private parties. Contact me for details! I am a lifelong educator, facilitator, and certified play practitioner. I love bringing games to team building events and companies too!
