About the adventure
This campaign is a unique take on the players customizing an experience for Dungeons & Dragons. Once you have been added to the campaign, you will be free to explore each of the following options set in place for you. Each Player then individually, and privately votes on their top 3 choices! The first step is to choose which locations you would like the campaign to take place in. It may not be where the story begins but, it will be where the majority of the campaign takes place! Your choices are: • Droaam • Karrnath • Q’Barra • The Eldeen Reaches • The Lhazzar Principalities • The Shadow Marches Next, the players will choose their favorite “Spines”. These will have more significance when it comes to the types of encounters and overall plot of the story you will play through. Your choices are: • Criminal Underworld • Faction Conflict • Frontier Adventure • Investigation • Political Intrigue Finally, the players will vote in the same fashion on the final layer of the story, the “Flavor”. This is for the atmosphere, tone, and types of characters they are most likely to meet within the campaign. The choices are: • Arcane Science • Horror • Noir • Western All choices are made within Roll20. Each option also has its own handout, going more in-depth to help you decide. When you’re ready to cast your vote, you will be able to do so by using pre-made macros to simplify the process even further. The result is a campaign that feels collaborative from the very start without losing any immersion once play begins. *Pricing Disclaimers* Due to the amount of work that will go into the creation of this campaign, a deposit from each player will be required after the voting has been concluded. However, this will also count as payment for the first Session. (Session Zero is still free) I will require at least 3 days between Session Zero and Session One to craft the beginning of the campaign, as it is completely unique to your choices as a group. Also, a discount of $10 per player will be offered for each session that involves a full table of 5 players!

Meet the Game Master
Less than a year on StartPlaying
About me
Hello, everybody! My name is Steve and I started being a Game Master about 15 years ago. Stories and characters have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. The Tabletop Roleplaying Game medium is something I have been passionate about for the past twenty years and I am excited to share that enthusiasm with a larger community. It is an amazing style of art that I am grateful to have a deep connection with. I first started playing Tabletop Roleplaying Games back in 2006, when I was introduced to the World of Darkness setting. After two years of being a player in a Vampire Campaign and a Werewolf Campaign, I ran a Vampire (Sabbat) Chronicle myself that lasted two years. Since then, I have spent more time focusing on other forms of storytelling such as writing screenplays, video games, songs and short stories. In 2022, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing for Media at Full Sail University. In October of 2024, I decided to try my hand at being a Game Master for a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign. That game is still going strong and is planned to conclude in late 2026.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be fine-tuned during the free Session Zero. This will be about the same length of time as other sessions. We will discuss any character or game mechanics questions you have during this. All character will be starting at Level 1 for this adventure. All Race and Class options that are found in the following books are available to use: The Players Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, Eberron: Rising from the Last War. There are two ways in which players may choose their starting Ability Scores: Variant Array: 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11. Allocate these numbers among our six ability scores as you see fit before any Racial Bonuses. Roll for Scores: These rolls can either be done during Session 0 or with me on Roll20 at a separate designated time. The player will roll 4d6 and have the option to reroll any 1 or 2 once. After doing so, we will take the sum of the three highest dice. That will be a number you can choose to allocate to any Ability Score you’d like. The Charactermancer in Roll20 is very helpful when it comes to describing what you are choosing for you character as you do. However, if you ever feel unsure, no worries. I am happy to help with any questions or additional setup needed during Session Zero. You will be given the option of starting gold or starting equipment when first creating your character. Make sure to choose starting equipment. Even though you are a Level 1 Adventurer, you are still more skilled and experienced than the average townsfolk. At the beginning of the adventure you will have the opportunity to roll dice for the amount of starting gold based on your class, in addition to the starting equipment.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will create a channel dedicated to this campaign using Discord. This is where the majority of our communications will take place. Between sessions I am available to text with. During the sessions, this is where we will be using the voice chat features. Please make sure that your device has a compatible microphone enabled. The game itself will be played on Roll20. Players are not required to have any sort of subscription to their services, or materials purchased. I will provide access to any information needed during the game.
What Steve brings to the table
I do my best to accommodate personal needs and goals for all of my players and their characters! Combat should be exciting, interesting and also tell a story in its own way. I really enjoy giving the NPCs their own voices and quirks to help flesh out their personalities. Music is crucial and I love to add ambience and music for certain situations. I am a firm believer in the "Rule of Cool", which is not letting the rules get in the way of something great happening in the story. The more creativity my players bring to the table, the more I am willing to reward that with cool scenes and unforgettable moments. That being said, I still try not to let scenes or battles get too hung up on the rules for too long. That is the reason I run my games with the rules as written (besides the optional variants listed below).
Homebrew rules
Homebrew Rules (All are optional) Critical Hits deal max damage before the normal roll. Healing Potions: Characters receive the full amount when using an action and must roll when used as a bonus action. Flanking: When a creature is making a melee attack, and there is an ally on the opposite side of the target, the attacker gets advantage on their attack rolls. If rolling two d20 (for advantage or disadvantage) a roll of the same number (doubles) constitutes as a critical success either way.

How Steve creates a safe table
I share a Google Doc with all my players that includes a multiple choice questionnaire. This is intended to help better understand any topics or experiences that their characters may encounter that the player would not be comfortable with. I have always maintained an open door policy. I take into account the concerns of my players at all times with professional sincerity. If you are unsure of situations or content that may or may not cause a problem to arise, I do utilize the X, N, and O cards as means to convey this quickly and conveniently.
