About the adventure
Calling all horror ghouls and girlies! You will be diving into an adventure that is a mix of gothic horror, eldrich horror, psychological horror, a hint of fantasy and a heaping dose of dark humour. Mayhaps...a little bit of romance. Ravenloft, the setting of this campaign is not for the faint of heart so be aware as much as I love to joke I will not stray away from the darker more gruesome aspects and psychologically horrifying aspects of this module while using safety tools and respecting people's boundaries. I am a roleplay heavy dungeon master who loves use silly and serious voice and loves to help build connections between player characters and connections with the world and and npcs. I love to create moments for my players and give everyone a chance to shine and be tormented because let's face it, as dnd players we love to put our characters through hell. YOUR ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. I love to make sure that my players' actions have impact on the world so both the negative and positive actions your characters take have an impact. When your character is dead dead, there may be an option to have them come back...at price or with a twist. Death is not always the end in Barovia. I am very much a rule of cool and homebrew dm. I love to experiment with different styles of combat and interactions so the rules may get broken or bent a little for fun and of course with player consent. Table etiquette: -This is a LGBTQ+ friendly game so please be respectful and don’t apply if you have a problem with that. -Respect everyone at the table so that everyone has fun. -Have patience with other players and me (a newer DM). -Feedback for me the DM is appreciated as long as it doesn’t delay the game too much and it is respectful. -Romance and flirting is allowed with NPCs but keep in mind that no means no! Consent is very important. -Romance and romantic elements are a factor in my games so please don't apply if you are uncomfortable with romance (just a personal preference). -NO MEANS NO! -Romance between PCs is allowed as long as both players are okay with it and want it. -If you feel uncomfortable with a topic or something that happened, please don’t hesitate to dm me. -No murder hobos

About me
Hello! My name's Willow (they/she). I am an avid worldbuilder, game master, artist, writer and dreamer always looking to help people bring their unique characters to life and immerse people in any game I run. I also LOVE to do silly and serious voices. Voice acting is a passion of mine. LGBTQ+ friendly. I put a huge emphasis on the safety and comfort of my players as well as communication. I have been roleplaying and storytelling since I was in highschool so even though I am newer to DND 5e, I know to weave a good story with fleshed out npcs. I have been gming for 3+ years now and I have loved it so much. I put an emphasis on rule of cool and use homebrew liberally especially when crafting unique monsters.

Creating your character
For this campaign: -Character will be starting at Level 1 -Characters must be adults (18+) in human years. -Characters must have a good or neutral alignment. -No murder hobos please! -You can start with one feat. -We will be using 2014 rules. -Stats can be rolled or you can use a standard array -Standard 5e races preferred (if you have a homebrew race you want to try you have to run it by me first. If you have a character that is a custom race please have a standard back up race in case I do not approve the homebrew race). -Disabled characters are allowed (blind, walking with a cane etc.) -Homebrew is allowed but you have to run it by me first! -Come up with one personal goal the character wishes to achieve.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have an account on Discord. The server link will be sent within a day or two of you signing up. The discord will contain the link to the Foundry server where the game is hosted. Make sure you have a decent mic and quiet space to play. I would love for everyone to to chose art to represent their character and maybe even an outfit for the masquerade. You are free to use pinterest, draw, google or commission art if you really want to.
What Willow brings to the table
I will be providing: -detailed maps -animated scenes -ambient sound -ambient music I love using character voices and embracing Rule of Cool! I will do my best to provide a safe environment for yall to have fun in. I will not tolerate any racism, homophobia, transphobia or any other discrimination etc.
Homebrew rules
~Flanking gives you advantage on an attack roll ~You may drink a potion as a bonus action ~Criticals do not apply to ability checks or saves ~Stealth is not the same as invisibility, be mindful with cover, even if you have a ridiculously high modifier. ~Critical Hits deal max damage plus a damage roll! -For certain checks and rolls, I may ask you to roll blind or to me privately for suspense. -Death may not be the end

How Willow creates a safe table
I will check in with players before session 0 about any potential triggers and/or topics that may cause them discomfort. This module deals with a lot of heavy topics and I want to be able to tackle them in a respectful manner. While the content warnings listed are things that occur/often occur in the module, I am okay with modifying events to avoid certain topics. My dms are always open for messages even mid session, I check in with each player individually after intense sessions, I love to do stars and wishes
