Then, we dive into the adventure! Our story begins in the village of Oakhaven, where the nearby woods have grown strangely silent and dangerous. About me
I'm a GM, teacher, and improv nerd who runs collaborative, character-driven games. I believe the best RPG stories are forged by the whole table, not written by one person. My background in teaching and improv helps me craft worlds full of heart and humor where your choices truly matter. My goal is to create a fun, inclusive space where we can build something truly epic together.

Creating your character
Do not worry about preparing anything! We will build characters together during the session using D&D Beyond. I will provide access to all official options for you to browse beforehand or during creation. To keep things fun and simple for our first adventure, we will follow these guidelines: - We will use the new 2024 core rules. - Characters begin at Level 3. - Everyone starts with one uncommon magic item. If you are excited, you are welcome to brainstorm ideas early and discuss them with other players in our Discord! I am also happy to provide suggestions if you ask.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To ensure a smooth start, please complete the following before the session: CREATE A FREE D&D BEYOND ACCOUNT: We will use D&D Beyond for character creation and gameplay. Creating a free account beforehand saves time and grants you access to my full digital library if you wish to browse options in advance. GET SET UP ON DISCORD: We will use Discord for voice and video. Please ensure you have: - A stable internet connection. - A working microphone. - Headphones to prevent echo. - A webcam is optional but recommended for a better social experience. I'm available for setup checks in the days before we play. For last-minute help on game day, please message me at least one hour in advance.
What Drew DiSario brings to the table
INTEGRATED VTT: Your D&D Beyond character sheets are fully synced with our virtual tabletop (Maps) for seamless dice rolls and dynamic gameplay. PROFESSIONAL AUDIO: Experience a high-quality audio atmosphere through a boosted Discord server, featuring immersive music/ambiance and voice-modulated NPCs. CHARACTER SUPPORT: Get full assistance to create a custom character. Or, if you prefer not to start from scratch, use a pre-generated Level 1 template and I will help you level it up to 3. CREATIVE COLLABORATION: I foster a collaborative, "Rule of Cool" environment where creative solutions are celebrated, ensuring a fun and beginner-friendly experience for all.
Homebrew rules
For this introductory session, we will primarily use the standard 2024 rules as written (RAW). Our main goal is fun, so we always reserve the right to make quick, fair rulings to keep the game flowing and encourage creative ideas.
