About the adventure

Come one or come all. A new world in Daggerheart awaits! Well—that is where you'll be starting, at least. Where you end up is a mystery. In this campaign, you will start as a Level 1 fledgling tasked with stealing an artifact from a nearby king's castle. Why each of you would take on such an impossible task is up to you and your backstory. Maybe it’s because of family issues or an overly large debt. You decide. During the campaign, you can expect anything as we tell our story together. Your character? Well, they will reach higher levels if it's in the cards. Do you have what it takes to take on this journey? -- Campaign Details -- Open to beginners, new and veteran players. Rule of Cool. Riddles, puzzles, and anything else I feel like bringing into the game. My door is always open to set a time for messages or Discord chat. House rules are highly possible with group input. About me

The Story Comes First. My journey with tabletop games began with the Red Box edition, and my passion for these worlds has only grown since. I see the role of the GM as a weaver of stories, creating a space where you can step out of your daily routine and into a hero's shoes. Not to say the hero's shoes can't be heavy at times. About myself: I consider myself a bit of an "old soul"; I’m down-to-earth, a patient listener, and I believe the game is a collaborative journey. I pride myself on being a friendly, patient GM who listens as much as I describe. I don't claim to know it all, and I love it when players bring new perspectives to the game. When it comes to the rules, I use them to support the fun, not hinder it. I utilize house rules to ensure our sessions are unique and memorable, always prioritizing the group's experience over rigid book-learning. If you’re looking for a grounded, thoughtful guide for your next adventure, I’d love to have you at my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

The Journey Ahead The Essentials: Starting Level: 1st Level. Platform: We will build and play using Foundry VTT. Session Zero: We will meet to discuss party chemistry, safety tools, and finalize your character’s place in the world. The Hook: A Debt to the Shadows You aren't starting this adventure for gold or glory. You are here because the Black Ravens Syndicate has leverage over you. Whether it’s a debt you can't pay, a dark secret they’ve uncovered, or a loved one they are "protecting," they own you. Your task is simple but insane: Rob the King. They want a specific ancient artifact, and they want it now. They haven’t shared why they need it, but their desperation is palpable. The Setting: The Grey Realms (What You Know) The world is... off. Most people are too busy surviving to notice, but as an adventurer, you’ve seen the "Secret Exhaustion" taking hold: - Brittle Reality: You’ve seen iron tools snap like glass for no reason. Ancient stone buildings "shed" dust constantly, as if the rocks themselves are tired of holding together. - The Pale Wilds: Forests don’t seem to grow; they simply persist. The leaves are the color of old parchment, and the sun feels weak, casting thin, blurred shadows. - The Static Zones: You know to avoid certain high-altitude or "thin" areas. The air there smells of burnt ozone and breathing feels like inhaling dry sand—a condition the locals call "The Rasp." Your Contribution: Two Locations In addition to your backstory, please provide two locations your character is connected to. These will be woven into the fabric of our campaign: A Place of Origin: A village, a city district, or a landmark where your character has roots or a history. A Place of Legend: Somewhere your character has heard of in whispers—a destination they hope exists, or perhaps a place they fear they’ll one day have to visit.
