About the adventure
This campaign, while basic as written, does a solid job of encapsulating what D&D is. In it, you'll find not only dungeons, but dragons as well, even a town or two to save! Wizards of the Coast released a trilogy of adventures that serve to expand the content found in the D&D Essentials Box Set, and it makes for a good campaign, one I've already run once before. As such, this campaign is perfect for beginners to Dungeons and Dragons who want to learn the ins and outs of 5th Edition, and the best part, I can technically run it with just one player (though I'd rather a full group to be honest). So if you want to try your hand at a full D&D campaign, and want to ease into the game with a dungeon master who's just finished running it already, then sign up!

About me
I am the Mad Catter, I've been running RPG's since I was a wee little Catter, and I will probably stop when I'm dead. Maybe not even then. I have a background in theater, I am a storyteller, and consider one of the heights of the craft to be the collective weaving of tales a group can conjure up. Creating your character
Characters will start out at level one, though I do have a fast track option that starts you all out at level three, but that's reserved for more experienced groups. We will create the characters in Fantasy Grounds during session 0 using point buy or standard array. I don't mind rolling for stats with a more experienced group, but I want this game to be as beginner friendly as possible.

🎤 Please have a working microphone. 🎧 Some kind of headset or headphones, speakers will produce echo that can be jarring. 🎥 Web Camera's are NOT required, I know a lot of people don't like showing their faces online and I will not force that, but if you're find with it, then do so. Homebrew rules
We pretty much stick to the rules as they are. Any adjustments will be discussed with the group. Encumbrance is loose, just don't be ridiculous. Potions are a bonus action, but if you want full healing, use a full action and you'll get max HP.

How The Mad Catter creates a safe table
I try to keep things simple regarding safety rules. X-Cards are in play, indeed I even have a mod for Fantasy Grounds that utilizes the X Card. I work with lines and veils (my line is Sexual Assault, veils are really any sexual content in general), and have an open door policy. I encourage players to speak up, and if they'd rather other player's don't hear what bothers them, they can always private message me and I'll maintain their anonymity. Session 0 will cover character creation and a crash course in Fantasy Grounds. We'll go over safety tools, then cap things off with a quick combat to get everyone used to that aspect of the VTT. I'll follow it up with any background questions either as we're finishing up, or over Discord.
