About the adventure
In one timeline, Qui-Gon Jinn's first apprentice falls to the Dark Side. In another timeline, Alanna Solo ascends to a Jedi Throne. In a third, Darth Vader's secret apprentice brings together a Rebel Alliance. In a fourth, Rey is all that remains of the Skywalker and Palpatine legacies. But someone, or something, has meddled with this timeline, and it is now one of your shaping. "Echoes of the Force" is a homebrew campaign for Star Wars: Saga Edition, intended for old and new players alike, taking place in an original timeline which combines aspects of the Disney canon, Legends, and the Expanded Universe into an original story we'll shape together. Choose your side, fulfill your destiny, and make your mark upon the Galaxy. Your saga will take you across the Galaxy, which I encourage you to consider a sandbox as your character follows a path of their choosing. The most important question I can ask you is, "What does your character want?" The pursuit of those goals, however concrete or abstract, will form the greater narrative as the world responds do your choices. Roleplay is as important as combat in this game, if not more so, and you are welcome to explore the Dark Side as well as the Light, though with that, as with everything, safety rules and party communication must and shall be observed. Tonally, this game is intended to have the same feel as the movies: the stakes are very real, but there is always room for levity and friendship. I don't want to shy away from the very real questions raised by the Republic's corruption or the Empire's oppression, but I also want to balance that with fun, humor, unique NPC interaction, and exploration. And if you don't recognize or haven't seen those titles, don't worry about it. You don't need to know the lore; just be open to the vibe. Star Wars embraces the mystical as well as the action-packed, and any lore you require will be given as it is needed. On that note, I do not tolerate gatekeeping. We are all entitled to our preferred content, and we are all to be respected and welcomed. If this all sounds great to you, then odds are you'd be a great fit at my gaming table. That said, I'm selective about who ends up there. I am protective of the vibe, and I want to make sure we mesh, for the sake of our collective enjoyment. To that end, I ask that you send me a message with the following: - The kind(s) of character(s) you would like to explore. - Your comfort with dark themes, romance, and any other content you feel may warrant a discussion. NSFW content is for consenting adult players and adult characters only, and more often than not, I treat it as fade-to-black. - Any other questions you have!

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm Sawyer. Pleased to meet you. I'm a writer and voice actor who specializes in world-building and character relationships. As a player and game master, my storytelling is driven by curiosity; I both plan and improvise plot points based around questions I and/or my players want to pursue. I am inclusion- and diversity-minded in my games, and I not only welcome but want BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent players at my tables. I hope we can play together.

Creating your character
Players are requested to create a Level 3 character in the Roll20 character sheet I will provide for them upon activation of the game. Stats should be rolled manually, and players may reroll up to twice if they are dissatisfied with the results. The third array must be committed to, and I trust my players to honor the rule. I also encourage, though do not require, an array that has a negative modifier or two. Failure can be just as interesting as success, if not more. Multiclassing is permitted, and if a player is considering it, they are encouraged to consider the stat prerequisites for doing so. If a player is unfamiliar with the process and would like help doing so, I'm happy to walk them through it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a Discord account, as we will make use of a voice channel to play and several text channels to organize information. A webcam is encouraged but not required. Players should also have a Roll20 account, as character sheets and battle maps will be stored there. Players are welcome to use the virtual dice included in a Roll20 game, though as a dice goblin myself, I won't begrudge them the use of their own.
What Sawyer brings to the table
First and foremost, I will provide links to a community Discord with dedicated channels for our game and to the Roll20 game that we will use. I will also provide the necessary sourcebooks for Star Wars: Saga Edition. There are many, so the clearer the vision for the intended characters, the easier it is to navigate them. Beyond that, I provide ambient music, character voices, unique NPCs, consequential roleplay, strategic combat, and a Rule-of-Cool approach to the game. I also make a point to be communicative about session recaps, mechanics, narratives, and lore so that each player feels equipped to and capable of tailoring their character to their best liking.
