About the adventure

On a top secret island off the coast of Puerto Rico lies an abandoned factory that the US military is using to fund "The Crucible Program"; a training procedure created by Dr. Timothy Stillman to forge highly advanced SEALs. You will each play 3 test subjects brought to this island to run through it's gauntlet it's by no means a race to the finish, but a test of creative teamwork and a skill for improvising with the tools on hand to overcome sometimes strange and other times overwhelming obstacles. This is an introduction game into the FIST: Ultra Edition TTRPG! So if you've been looking to play FIST or you're just looking to dip your toes into a game outside the typical Fantasy Dungeon Crawler, come on down and sign on up for a grand old time!

About me

Hey-o, I'm Behemoth! I've been GMing for Dungeons & Dragons and other RPGs since 2014. I've primarily run games like Dungeons & Dragons, FIST: Ultra Edition and City of Mist with a mixture of in-person and online tabletop groups, through Discord, Roll20 and Owlbear Rodeo. I learned how to play my first TTRPG with Dungeons & Dragons 5e's Starter Set, because I found the box in a bookstore one fateful July in 2014. I never thought for a second that a hobby like this would be something I'd end up doing 10+ years later! Overall it has been a net positive for my life, as I've changed and evolved as human being I have been blessed to meet so many kind, cool and interesting people throughout it all. Now I'd like to share the magic of those adventures with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

I'll lead you through character creation at the beginning and at the end of the first session, it shouldn't take any longer than 15 minutes or so. FIST makes it very simple to create your characters, in the way that the character sheet is very modular, with traits that add bonuses and equipment to your character sheet. FIST: Ultra Edition is made for character creation to be made very simple with its randomized tables, because it is very likely your first FIST operative will not survive past the first session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Make sure to gather the sharpest 6-sided-dice you have, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of what your wallet can lose. We will be playing on the Luckmaker Tabletop Discord, so the link will be provided below. Any rolls that we make will happen on the Discord through the Avrae dice bot. What Behemoth brings to the table

I love promoting an atmosphere that keeps players engaged and in the game, so I will attempt to be p[laying genre appropriate music and doing character impressions to put up the veil of life and game. FIST is all about hard and fast combat with a simple set of rules that are very open to interpretation so the Rule of Cool and Theater of Mind will be key in this game!

Safety

How Behemoth creates a safe table

In session 0 we will go over what FIST: Ultra Edition is basically about and how session prep is done. I will hand out a Lines & Veils document for the players to fill, so that I can better customize the game for everyone. Once each session is over I will check in with the group as a whole to make sure everyone is on the same page and emotionally recovering what may have been an emotionally charged session. I do utilize the X Card, but I prefer it is DM'd right to me to make sure that I am almost immediately made aware.
