About the adventure
Raise sword, shield, and sorcery against Belcorra Haruvex, who would trample the world, starting with your hometown of Otari! This non-stop dungeon crawl asks you and your allies to become heroes by braving the forgotten tunnels beneath the Gauntlight. Before the next full moon, recover the icons of heroes of yore, confront fearsome and otherworldly foes, and challenge the Ghost Queen before she can bring her plans to fruition! Abomination Vaults offers an excellent jumping off point for new Pathfinder adventurers and an old school romp of monster blasting, clever politicking, and maybe even a jam session! This streamlined take focuses on nonstop action, explosive level ups, and fearsome fiends while the clock is ticking! Join as a group for $5 off every session! Pace of Play: Each level of the dungeon features one or more "bosses." Defeat or satisfy the level's boss to gain a level. Often this will open up the next floor. VTT integration and a focus on dungeon crawling will make this a 9-12 month campaign. If you're interested in a Diablo-inspired hack-and-slash and JRPG inspired roving merchants, this is a campaign you don't want to miss!New and returning players welcome.

About me
I offer: 🏳️🌈 A welcoming, inclusive play style 🔥 Player-focused flair and action 🧭 Open-ended storytelling following player cues 🎭 In-game action, horror, awe, and comedy ⚖️ Settings with themes of justice and transformation 📆 Over a decade of game mastering experience 🖋️ Know-how with dozens of systems Even in the midst of death-defying adventure or bone-chilling horror, I aim to be a warm and welcoming game master. LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC players can expect respect at my tables. I've run games for children, seniors, and all ages in between. Safety tools such as the X Card are always part of my table. I suffuse hope, respect, and warmth into every session I run. That's why I go by the Gentle GM. At thirteen, three of us huddled around the Dungeons & Dragons 3e starter set, laughing at a natural 20 to breakdown a door with the fighter's head. In high school, I found the Call of Cthulhu rulebook and made investigators, still clueless how to actually play. In 2014 with the launch of D&D 5e and Call of Cthulhu 7e, I committed to running these games and an old love sparked brilliantly to life! I've since taught dozens their first TTRPG! I'm an inveterate game dabbler. If you're curious if I run a particular game, just ask! I'm up to the challenge to try something new you're excited to play. I run games full-time. You can expect preparation and dedication at my table. Local cafes and bars also host my game sessions and workshops. My newsletter and itch page also share game design reflections and projects. Creating your character
We will create characters as part of the zero session. Pregenerated characters inspired by the icons of Pathfinder 2e will be available. The party is encouraged to have a cleric and an arcane caster (such as a wizard). Players new to Pathfinder 2e are strongly encouraged to use one of the classes from Player Core, including the bard, cleric, druid, fighter, ranger, rogue, witch, or wizard. The Free Archetype rule will be discussed during the zero session. If the party does not include a primary healer (typically a cleric), then the party may opt for the Stamina rules variant, allowing short recoveries outside of combat. Player classes: This is a combat heavy campaign. Plan to coordinate and buff others for more lethal attacks. Any class is welcome. Languages: Aklo, Elven, and Undercommon will be useful in this campaign. Skills & Feats: Acrobatics, Athletics, Occultism and Lore for Caverns, Otari, and Spirits are useful. Feats to consider include Canny Acumen, Incredible Initiative, and Toughness. Crafting will NOT be part of the campaign, though the Craft skill can be useful.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need: 1) Discord profile and to join the Gentle GM server 2) A mic and headphones (webcam is encouraged, but not required) 3) Computer access to Foundry (Foundry on tablet is experimental)
What Caleb | The Gentle GM brings to the table
My players say it better than I can: "Caleb’s tables feel inclusive and safe. I love how he encourages player creativity. He tailors his games to the play group, so they are the right level of challenging." - Cindy "Caleb's storytelling, world-building, knowledge of different systems, and ability to create an inclusive, safe space for every single player at the table is (and I say this with my whole chest) exceptional." - Jenna "'ve played and run games for years now, and Caleb truly brings player involvement and agency to a different level than I see elsewhere." - Matt "One highlight for me was the closing of my first Pathfinder campaign. I did not expect anything special, but he prepared a thoughtful ending that gave my character a sense of closure and significance. It stuck with me and shows how much care he puts into his games." - Malirrian "Caleb taught me to play D&D when I was 11... I’m playing every week with a group that never would have formed if it wasn’t for Caleb inspiring me with his storytelling." - Nyx Nackle You can expect: A story defined by the player characters and your choices Patience and support in moments of uncertainty Colorful characters and fantastical settings Theatrical acting for side characters with a touch of voiceacting Celebration of character success and plot beats Respect and consideration of my players and their consent I'm familiar with this campaign and aim for an action-packed delivery. I've tightened sections that feel slack to keep players in the center of the story. Whether you're new or experienced with Pathfinder, I hope to bring a lush and exciting game experience!
