About the adventure

Welcome to Butteville Arcanists' Polytechnic, also known as BAP. Students at BAP are learning magical trades, aiming for careers in exorcising ghosts, fighting monsters, or de-cursing artifacts... you know, normal tradesman stuff. In this one-shot, our heroes will face off against one of the most complicated anti-heroes any urban student can possibly encounter... public transportation. This game is a fundraiser for the UK-based charity Mermaids, which supports trans youth and their families. In order to join the game, you just need to submit proof of a donation in any amount, and you're in! While there is no minimum amount to donate, I hope you will respect the spirit of the endeavor and try to give what you can. This game uses a custom Daggerheart campaign frame.

About me

I’ve been a storyteller across mediums, including as a playwright, actor, and novelist-- plus a drama critic and a literary scholar, breaking down stories and figuring out how and why they work the way they do. Over time, this came to feel like an accidentally perfect GMing education. I started playing TTRPGS with D&D, like most people, but was fortunate enough to fall into a local group where I had the opportunity to be introduced to a range of different systems that helped me realise how many amazing possibilities there are out there for collaborative storytelling through games.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation information, including information about the setting, will be provided once you join the campaign and my Discord server. Characters will begin at level 2. Access to all character creation materials will be provided through Demiplane.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Once you have joined the game, you will need to join my Discord server, where I will provide information about character creation and where we will host the game itself. You will need to make an account for Demiplane, a free website that hosts the character creator.

What Hailey brings to the table

I will provide you with access to a Demiplane campaign that includes all character information. I will also provide a setting document, background music, and fun NPCs. :)

Safety

How Hailey creates a safe table

All players will fill in a Lines and Veils document before play, and we will review it at the start of the session to ensure everyone is on the same page. Players will also be asked to discuss their character ideas openly so that any uncomfortable or unwanted subject matter can be flagged. In game, we will use the X card and an open door policy. Almost no content warnings are listed below, as I am happy to shift the subject matter of the adventure to accommodate any player preference. This will be a fairly lighthearted game, so I doubt any of those topics will come up anyway!
