About the adventure
The town of Drellin's Ferry has been requesting an investigation into monster movements - but the larger city of Brindol considers it low priority. You and your party are dispatched to look into it. As you do, you find a strange new monster from another world making it's move. While investigating these creatures, you will find new enemies, allies, and situations to deal with. Can you find the source of these monsters and prevent them from destroying civilization?

About me
Like many, I learned to DM in order to entice my friends to learn to play. Having run games casually for 15+ years, and professionally for 4 of those years, I've come to truly call the DM seat home - not out of obligation but out of love for the role. I first learned to play D&D 3.5, and then Pathfinder 1e. Eventually I spent a bit of time playing micro systems, and then Pathfinder 2e before finally settling on D&D 5e as my current primary system. The biggest lesson I learned that spans across multiple systems is that we really are just here to have fun. The system matters - just not as much as having fun matters. I love meeting new people, and I love playing games - so I look forward to meeting and playing with you! -Ryan

Creating your character
There will be a session zero at no cost, where we go over these and other expectations - yours as well as mine.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord is the best way to reach me in between games; gameplay will take place using roll20, which requires a free account.
What Ryan brings to the table
When playing, my goal is to make the players feel like heroes. That means that while you may end up winning the war (if you play smart), you will face possible character death along the way. Keeping the stakes for your characters high is how I encourage my players to be engaged with their portion of the story. Utilizing roll20, I provide access to handouts and maps with a visual of what your character can actually see. This also gives me the ability to play ambient music, dependent on internet connections of the players. I also provide a selection of digital character tokens, as well as the ability for you to provide your own image.
Homebrew rules
While I sometimes move past looking up a rule for verification, I do my best to keep us close to the rules - it helps you know what to expect from the game.

How Ryan creates a safe table
We will have a session zero where we discuss needs/limits of players. This will also be a chance for me to share expectations I have, and to receive your expectations. In addition, I will be present after all games for decompression after sessions - especially after particularly intense sessions. Finally, I am available privately on discord for discussion as needed.
