About the adventure

This is a game meant to be used as both an introduction to D&D as well as some nice pacing adventure for those who feels like home. You are in charge of defending the village against monster's attacks, while also having to figure it out why are those attacks happening. A travel to deep within the jungle seems like the only way to discover something about what is going on, and hopefully will be all that it takes to stop those dangerous attacks from occuring. The village people really counts of you, so make sure to do your best!

About me

I got into tabletop RPGs when I was 15 years old and discovered my love for being a GM about 4 years ago. Really love to create stories where everyone can be part of, and I'm always aspiring to become better in doing so. TTRPGs are by far my favorite hobby and I really enjoy connecting with people through them, so I hope we can get to play together :3

Character creation

Creating your character

So basically I like to give my players full creativity and freedom on what their characters are built upon. Where they came from, what are their objectives, and so on. However, this is mostly a lawful good campaign so I would ask not to go too much into the other way. You can refer to any official books while creating your characters, and we use standard point-buy for your attributes. I have everything set up on Foundry VTT, so we're gonna use it to build your character sheets once we are all ready.

What Nayumi brings to the table

Style over substance! Rule of cool is one of my favorite things about being a GM, and sometimes I do overlook a rule or two for the sake of the roleplay. My combats tends to have secondary objetives to give them a lot more to think then just taking down a few enemies. And of course, the ambience! I try not to overdo it, but a good old background music and some sound effects help a lot when it comes to setting the tone. I must admit I do have a little trouble doing characters' voices since I'm tone deaf, but I always try my best to keep as immersive as possible!

Homebrew rules

I do have a couple ones that I would like to list here. 1. You can drink a potion as a bonus action. But by choosing to use your full action to do so, you always get the max amount of healing from a healing potion. 2. Critical hits. The base damage of your weapon or spell is always maxed out, you just roll for the extra damage from the crit. This goes for monsters too, so be careful! 3. If you fall on combat, you can still move up to half your speed after performing your death saving throw. Falling (to 0 hit points) three times in the same combat will result in death.

Safety

How Nayumi creates a safe table

First, I'll link the details about what kind of safety tools we are using. I always make sure to talk to them in private, since I know people can be a little influenced by external factors such as other players' opinions, so I ask them directly what kind of things makes them feel uncomfortable. We go over all the topics that may appear in the campaign and I ask them how they feel about it. After that, I usually explain in details about the safety tools we're using for the campaign just to make sure they understand how it works. Since I mostly use the X, N & O method, If they don't feel uncomfortable typing where everyone can see who is doing it, I usually suggest sending only to me instead, and I'll take care of the rest.
